Position Summary
The Senior Accounting Manager is a key financial operations role responsible for technical deferred commission accounting (ASC 340-40), global treasury administration, and international corporate governance across multiple foreign entities. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this role serves as the subject matter expert for commission capitalization methodologies, global enterprise banking platforms, and foreign subsidiary statutory compliance. The ideal candidate combines technical accounting precision with strong operational execution to maintain internal controls, streamline global banking networks, and support scalable corporate expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Deferred Commissions Accounting

• ASC 340-30 Close Execution: Manage monthly close processes; including portfolio-based accounting, performance obligation allocations, weighted-average rate calculations, and monthly accrual, deferral and amortization entries.

• Rates Workbook & System Management: Prepare the Rates Workbook for bookings and commission reconciliations; maintain the deferred commissions dashboard and quarterly customer product life reports.

• Audit Readiness & Automation: Write annual technical audit memos, lead quarterly customer-life evaluations, and manage audit deliverables. Partner with the Commission's team on comp plan updates. Advance process automation using AI tools (e.g. Claude) and commission engine automation modules.

• Treasury & Global Banking Administration

• Global Bank Account & Portal Governance: Serve as System Administrator for enterprise global banking portals and enterprise accounts; manage user access, entitlements, and portal permissions while ensuring compliance with internal governance standards, periodic Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews, mutual TLS (mTLS) security protocols, ACH fraud filters, concentration sweep structures, and payment processing modules.

• Corporate Credit Card Administration: Administer the global credit card program, enforcing Merchant Category Code (MCC) policies, setting credit limits, investigating rejected authorizations, issuing cards, and serving as the primary accounting department cardholder.

• Banking Partner Relationships: Act as the primary corporate contact for commercial banking partners, leading recurring relationship meetings and leveraging bank support networks to optimize service levels and resolve escalations.

• International Subsidiary and Director Compliance

• International Subsidiary Governance & Annual Compliance: Ensure our nine international entities remain in good standing by holding Annual General Meetings (AGMs), filing required statutory documents on time, and managing ongoing corporate governance requirements across foreign jurisdictions.

• Entity Formation & Transitions: Partner with Legal and International Accounting to project-manage the legal and operational setup of new international subsidiaries; oversee the legal and administrative process for appointing, resigning, or undating foreign Directors.

• Banking Compliance & Execution: Maintain KYC documentation for periodic compliance reviews with foreign banks and regulatory bodies; lead weekly international operational syncs to track global filing deadlines and maintain cross-functional accountability.

• System Administration

• Financial Close Management Administration: Serve as System Administrator for financial close management software, managing user onboarding, workflow optimization, and continuous process support in coordination with the internal accounting team.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with direct expertise in ASC 340-40 (Cost of Obtaining Contracts with Customers) and ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition).

• 3+ years of experience managing global banking portals (specifically Citibank / CitiDirect / CitiManager) and corporate credit card programs.

• Proven background in international subsidiary management, board director changes, annual general meeting (AGM) filings, and global KYC/banking compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Treasury Professional (CTP).

• Treasury background with a strong Accounting/Finance foundation.

• Corporate governance or international entity experience with a Paralegal or Law background.

Skills and Competencies

• ERP & Financial Software: Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite), financial close platforms (e.g. FloQast), and specialized commission engines (e.g. Xactly).

• Banking Portals: Expert-level familiarity with Citibank portals (CitiDirect, CitiManager) and electronic file transfer/security protocols (mTLS, ACH filters).

• Collaboration and teamwork: Works closely with recruiters, HRBPs, and leadership to support HR initiatives and work cooperatively with others within the organization and other cross-functional stakeholders.
