This position will support Air Force cryptographic modernization efforts by helping identify capability gaps, assess vulnerabilities in COMSEC and cryptographic systems, and develop recommendations, requirements, and strategic plans for modernized solutions across air, ground, space, cyber, and weapons platforms. The position also supports roadmap development, architecture and requirements documentation, compliance tracking, fielding strategies, and leadership briefings related to enterprise cryptographic modernization. The role supports the Air Force requirements development process by collaborating with stakeholders to refine operational requirements, develop required documentation, and obtain approval through Air Force Requirements Review Boards for modernization initiatives. The position also provides project status briefings, maintains project documentation, and supports DoD acquisition, funding, and NSA cryptographic certification activities throughout the requirements and modernization lifecycle.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to Participate in meetings, progress reviews, integrated teams, working groups, and project management reviews. Draft, edit, and review a variety of correspondence and documentation, primarily using Microsoft Office applications. Provide information management, records management, scheduling functions, and meeting/conference support. Prepare briefing and training materials and deliver presentations to Government stakeholders and senior leadership. Liaise and coordinate with personnel at all levels inside and outside the organization. Provide awareness of new and evolving requirements and recommendations for integration. Provide support for planning, programming, tracking, and financial execution. Prepare information papers, point papers, background papers, and staff studies. Collaborate with Government stakeholders to develop, refine, and maintain requirements documentation supporting Air Force modernization efforts and facilitate approval through applicable Air Force Requirements Review Boards. Maintain project documentation and provide recurring status updates and executive briefings on assigned modernization initiatives. Support DoD acquisition and funding processes, including coordination of modernization activities through applicable acquisition and program management processes. Support NSA cryptographic product certification and certification lifecycle activities, as applicable.

Task-Specific Responsibilities Conduct analysis and develop recommendations, with Government oversight and approval, regarding the requirements of mission-critical tactical systems employed across a wide range of air and ground-based systems. Covered systems include current airborne platforms (e.g., F-15, F-22, F-35, KC-46, C-17, VC-25, MQ-9, WASP, etc.) and may include planned/future airborne platforms; ground communications systems such as ABMS, TDC, and BLOS; and crypto-capable radios including JTRS, PRC-117, and LMR devices. Provide HQ CCC with research, analysis, and recommendations to mitigate vulnerabilities documented as capability gaps and from other Government-directed sources. Research shall be guided by directives from higher headquarters, NSA, and other agencies involved in cryptographic management or COMSEC. Research and analyze capability gaps such as bandwidth, SWaP, net readiness, and other warfighter-identified gaps through interviews, site visits, and analysis of previous studies conducted by other agencies or Services, when applicable. Conduct document reviews (e.g., CBA, ICD, Technology Readiness reports, threat assessments, and Air Force requirements documentation) to map overarching requirements to identified capability gaps. Analyze validated capability gaps and recommend requirements that may be used to develop or obtain a material solution. Perform gap analysis using Study Plans, Study Guidance, Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), and current Air Force requirements development processes to evaluate and recommend solutions. Support the development, refinement, coordination, and approval of Air Force requirements documentation, including documentation supporting the AF Form 1067 modification process and other evolving Air Force requirements methodologies. Recommend the alternative(s) that provide the most timely and effective elimination of identified vulnerabilities and improve deployed warfighters' cryptographic capability. Document results in RSR, SPR, AFRRG, and other Government-required briefings, incorporating Air Force leadership recommendations into Capability Development Documents (CDD) or successor requirements documentation. Analyze previous projects under Algorithm Transition efforts and those entering new phases of development. Analyze potential modifications and alternative solutions and provide written and verbal recommendations to address capability gaps and develop fielding plans that mitigate identified cryptographic vulnerabilities. Develop and present project status briefings, modernization recommendations, and technical presentations to senior Government leadership during project management reviews, working groups, and executive-level meetings.
