Youth Inc. (https://youth.inc) is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Hybrid: Boston/Chicago) We’re a venture-backed e-commerce marketplace and media network for youth and high school sports. We’ve moved from zero to one with real revenue and are now looking for a Senior Engineer to help us scale to serve the 65M American families in this space. Our Stack: Elixir/Phoenix (LiveView), PostgreSQL, Oban, Next.js, Meilisearch, Vercel and Claude Code. What you’ll do: Lead product/engineering initiatives and own outcomes end-to-end. Design for scale: We handle high transaction volumes and need someone who can tune relational databases for millions of rows. Make pragmatic tradeoffs between shipping speed and long-term system health. Work in a high-trust, AI-assisted environment where you drive the vision. What we’re looking for: 7+ years of experience building/maintaining high-traffic, full-stack systems. Expertise in Elixir or an equivalent functional/concurrent stack. Strong foundation in observability, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and incident response. Clear communication—you can turn complex technical ideas into diagrams and strategy.
