Vice President – Data Governance

About this role

We are seeking a seasoned leader to drive our enterprise-wide Data Governance strategy and implementation. This role will establish robust governance frameworks, ensure data quality and compliance, and foster a data-driven culture across the organization.
Responsibilities

• Lead adoption of the Data Governance Framework, policies, and standards.

• Drive initiatives to improve data quality, consistency, security, and compliance.

• Facilitate Data Governance Committee meetings and provide oversight to senior leadership.

• Define enterprise-wide data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models.

• Oversee metadata management, business glossary, data lineage, and lifecycle management.

• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Technology, and business teams to embed governance controls.

• Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal standards.

• Champion governance awareness, training, and onboarding programs.

• Monitor KPIs and report governance performance to senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Management, or related field (Master's preferred).

• 10+ years in Data Governance/Data Management, with 5+ years in leadership.

• Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, metadata, lineage, and master data management.

• Experience with tools such as Collibra, Informatica, Microsoft Purview, or Alation.

• Background in banking/financial services regulations is highly desirable.

• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.

• Certifications such as CDMP, DAMA, DCAM, or COBIT.

• Experience in digital transformation or enterprise data modernization.

• Knowledge of data privacy and risk governance in financial services.
