About this role
TALENT ACQUISITION PARTNER/SENIOR TALENT ACQUISITION PARTNER
Prevail Fund is building a recruitment operation that serves both our team and our partners in Sub Saharan Africa and South East Asia. We're currently a 35-person team planning to roughly double in size over the next two years, and we also help our partners to build the teams they need to achieve impact at scale.
We're looking for a networking recruiter, not a volume or transactional recruiter. Someone who is a natural connector, has a successful track record of building relationships over time, and knows how to attract exceptional talent. If you're excited to use your networking skills to help connect amazing people to some of the most exciting opportunities in the impact sector, we'd love to hear from you.
Note - we're open to hiring at either TA partner or Senior TA partner level depending on experience. This is a fully remote position. Candidates must be based within four hours of CET (any location between US East Coast and East Africa) and legally eligible to work in their country. Preferred start date: ASAP.
ABOUT PREVAIL
Prevail is a new foundation dedicated to pursuing bold goals. We set a social change goal, find philanthropists who have a similar vision, raise a pooled fund, and then make grants. Rather than choosing a general issue area (e.g. education), each pooled fund chooses a simple, targeted goal. For example, our first fund aims to improve foundational education for over 27.5 million Grade 1-3 children, across 11 national governments in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
Prevail provides patient capital to implementers – primarily in the form of grants that grow over time as our partner organizations scale. In addition to funding, Prevail also offers on-the-ground support that helps orgs to scale, such as strategic planning, systems, recruitment, and talent development services.
Our roots are in the field. Our Co-Founding Board members have a track record of scaling social enterprises that together employ more than 15,000 staff and manage annual budgets exceeding $500M.
In our first three years, we have:
- Provided $55M in funding to date, to support 27 partners across Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, growing very quickly
- Helped partners to strengthen foundational learning outcomes for over 3 million children
- Hired 35+ mission-driven team members
- Executed dozens of in-field projects to help support key functions for our implementing partners
THE ROLE
At its core, this role is about two things: driving hiring for Prevail and our partners, and building the talent networks that make it possible to find and place exceptional people.
- Internally, we have ambitious growth plans for our team. You’ll help to find world-class talent that will help us roughly double in size over the next two years.
- Externally, we help partner organizations with their hiring - often working directly within partners' teams to help fill key roles and build out recruitment operations. This is one of the clearest ways we can help partners scale - our partners consistently tell us that hiring is their biggest barrier to growth. We're planning to significantly expand this work in the next 12 months.
We've found that to really bring in the top level of talent to the impact sector, we need to do more than post roles and use online search methodology (linkedin, AI tools, google searches etc). Both methods can work occasionally, but they are less successful than a structured networking approach, where we ask the right people in our network to recommend us the top talent, and then to connect and attract people into the right opportunities.
We have strong research and recruitment capacity in general, so we're specifically looking for a networking recruiter to structurally build out our talent networks across geographies and verticals, and use that network to successfully connect top talent to Prevail & our partners.
Working with George https://www.linkedin.com/in/george-bragg-a172503b/, you will:
- Proactively build and steward a talent network: This is the heart of the role. Identify, connect with, and maintain genuine relationships with exceptional people across our key geographies and verticals, so that when any role opens up, you know who to call.
- Source top talent: When a role opens, you'll draw on that network alongside research and mapping, referrals, and inbound interest to find the right people for Prevail and our partners.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment: Drive end-to-end hiring, delivering consistently excellent candidate experiences. We care deeply about personalised responses, clear timelines, and thoughtful feedback.
- Be a talent partner to our grantees: Support partners with their recruitment needs, including potentially embedding with partners’ teams to help with filling key roles & support with recruitment operations.
- Innovate: Continually find ways to make us and our partners better. Track key metrics, find ways to improve them with better tools, processes and ways of working.
ABOUT YOU
We're genuinely open on background. You might be a recruiter or executive search professional who has spent years building deep networks. You might equally come from an operational, program, or other professional background - someone who is very well connected and knows how to build and maintain relationships over time. What's most important is that you're a connector by instinct and you want to apply that to matching great people to exciting opportunities.
If you have most of the below, this could be a good fit.
- Track record of successfully building networks: You've built genuine professional relationships over time. People take your calls, and you stay in touch. Ideally, you understand how to build new networks in new spaces relatively quickly, and to connect those people to opportunities.
- Enough recruitment experience to run a good process: Whether through executive…
