For more information, visit <a class="fui-Link ___1eya986 f3rmtva f1ewtqcl fyind8e f1k6fduh f1w7gpdv fk6fouc fjoy568 figsok6 f1hu3pq6 f11qmguv f19f4twv f1tyq0we f1g0x7ka fhxju0i f1qch9an f1cnd47f fqv5qza f1vmzxwi f1o700av f13mvf36 f1cmlufx f9n3di6 f1ids18y f1tx3yz7 f1deo86v f1eh06m1 f1iescvh fhgqx19 f1olyrje f1p93eir f1nev41a f1h8hb77 f1x7u7e9 f10aw75t fsle3fq f17ae5zn" href="http://www.eyecare-partners.com/" target="_blank">www.eyecare-partners.com</a>.</span></p></div><div><strong>Job Title:  </strong>Surgical Technician - PRN<br><strong>Company:</strong>  Deer Creek Surgery Center<br><strong>Location:</strong>  Overland Park, KS<br><br><br><strong>Hours:</strong></div> <div> <ul> <li>PRN - flexible scheduling!</li> <li>Our office is open Monday-Thursday 7am-5:30pm, plus one Friday per month from 7am-5:30pm <ul> <li>Your shifts will fall within these hours</li> <li>You may need to work a little earlier/later as needed<br><br></li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or GED required</li> <li>Two (2) years of hospital main operating room experience preferred</li> <li>Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or other Surgical Technician certifications preferred</li> <li>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required</li> <li>Favorable result on background check required</li> <li>Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States<br><br></li> </ul> <hr> <p><strong>JOB TITLE: </strong>Surgical Technician<br><strong>DEPARTMENT: </strong>Operating Room (OR)<br><strong>FLSA STATUS: </strong>Non-Exempt<br><br></p> <p><strong>SUMMARY</strong></p> <p>Assists in surgical operations under the supervision of Surgeons, Registered Nurses and Surgical Assistants.  Assists in the organization and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established Federal, State and accreditation standards and company policies and procedures.  Assists the Nurses and Surgeons in delivering the highest standard of patient care available.<br><br></p> <p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES </strong></p> <ul> <li>Performs their duties in an ethical and legal manner within the scope of their certification. </li> <li>Complies with HIPAA regulations.</li> <li>Ability to scrub all types of cases performed at the company. </li> <li>Ability to anticipate the needs of the Surgeon and has equipment, medical gases and supplies readily available for all procedures. </li> <li>Participates in continuing education/in-service training as needed, staff meetings, and Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program. </li> <li>Knowledge of central and sterile supply department. </li> <li>Opens all sterile packs according to sterile technique and prepares instruments as needed.</li> <li>Helps prepare Operating Room by setting up surgical instruments, ensuring equipment works properly, labeling sterile solutions. </li> <li>Helps gather supplies and equipment in the room. </li> <li>Maintains record on field of medication used intra-operatively, specimens retrieved, tissue implanted, implants, liquids or chemicals on field. </li> <li>Passes instruments and other sterile supplies to surgical assistants. </li> <li>May hold retractors, cut suture, help count sponges, needles or blades if applicable.</li> <li>Prepares, cares for and disposes of specimens taken for laboratory analysis.</li> <li>Operates sterilizer, lights, suction, and other Operating Room equipment and diagnostic equipment. </li> <li>Assists in patient transfer to PACU, if needed. </li> <li>Helps clean and restock operating room. </li> <li>Assists with any technical function under supervision of system to carry out a safe operation. </li> <li>Preps, drapes and positions the patient for surgery. </li> <li>Prepares for case according to Surgeon’s preference card. </li> <li>Gathers supplies needed and anticipates needs for case. </li> <li>Assists in orientation of new staff when needed.</li> <li>Actively participates in the development of a healthy work environment. </li> <li>Other duties as assigned.<br><br></li> </ul> <p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to prioritize, plan, and implement patient care within the scope of their practice.</li> <li>Ability to handle stress associated with…
