<p><strong>POSITION OVERVIEW</strong><br>A rapidly growing, entrepreneurial technology company, Alarm.com is seeking a Supply Chain Category Planner to join its Supply Chain team. This new Planner would own all facets of the supply chain for one of our hardware categories. This role supports forecasting, buying, internal and external engagement, and supplier management. In this role, you should have an analytical mind and a strong business acumen. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential. This opportunity also will require you to work cross-functionally to support the organization.</p> <p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong><br>The Supply Chain Category Planner primary job responsibilities will include:</p> <ul> <li>Analyze supply and demand for specific product categories, minimizing both overstock and out of stock occurrences.</li> <li>Serve as the primary point of contact for all supply chain communication with suppliers, including production planning and product portfolio management.</li> <li>Proactively gather information to make rational forecasting decisions and execute analysis against historical data trends, while utilizing strong communication both upstream and downstream to key stakeholders.</li> <li>Utilize proactive analysis to make inventory replenishment decisions.</li> <li>Manage product transitions: <ul> <li>Coordinate with Product Managers and Marketing on product availability and rollout timelines.</li> <li>Collaborate with suppliers on component lead times, minimum order quantities and production schedules.</li> <li>Develop forecast and inventory purchase requirements.</li> <li>Manage product discontinuations (EOL) to support marketing and product management.</li> <li>Implement strategies to minimize inventory obsolescence.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Maintain organized and accurate data for month end reporting, leadership meetings, and KPI review.</li> <li>Facilitate meetings with the appropriate internal and external contacts of a specific category.</li> <li>Respond to internal and external contacts using strong communication skills.</li> <li>Collaborate cross functionally with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Legal, Engineering, etc.</li> <li>Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.</li> <li>Track and analyze RMA data; improve the quality process and reduce RMA rate for assigned product categories.</li> <li>Use sound business judgment and creativity to effectively navigate ambiguity, making timely and well-informed decisions to support supply chain goals.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>REQUIREMENTS</strong></p> <ul> <li>BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Mathematics or a related field.</li> <li>2+ years of experience in Supply Chain, <a href="https://resources.workable.com/logistics-coordinator-job-description">Logistics,</a>or similar role.</li> <li>On occasion, ability to work outside of standard business hours with overseas stakeholders.</li> <li>Analytical mindset with a problem-solving aptitude.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills.</li> <li>Self-starter who can operate independently.</li> <li>Team player with a positive attitude and high degree of flexibility.</li> <li>Working knowledge of MS Office, with strong Excel skills.</li> <li>Experience with MicroStrategy and PowerBI is a plus.</li> </ul> <p>Please note that sponsorship of new applicants for employment authorization, or any other immigration-related support, is not available for this position at this time.</p> <p><strong>WHY WORK FOR <a href="http://www.alarm.com">ALARM.COM</a>?</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Collaborate with outstanding people:</strong> We hire only the best.
