We are seeking a bilingual (Japanese-English) Manager to support our business development efforts with both institutional and commercial clients in Japan. The successful candidate will serve as the key point of contact for customers and stakeholders in the region, overseeing project coordination across offices, nurturing long-term partnerships, and representing Novaspace in the vibrant Japanese space ecosystem.
Act as a leader of Novaspace in Japan, drive business development activities, including the identification of market opportunities and client outreach
Cultivate strong relationships with Japanese government institutions, space agency, industry players, and commercial partners
Manage and deliver consulting projects for public and private clients, ensuring quality, impact, and client satisfaction
Actively participate in proposal writing and contract negotiations
Serve as the local lead for stakeholder engagement, including event participation and thought leadership
Coordinate with international teams to align strategic priorities and contribute to global consulting missions Fluency in both Japanese and English (spoken and written) is required
Knowledge of the Japanese space ecosystem, including government programs and commercial actors
Advanced analytical, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative international team environment
Flexibility for occasional international travel
Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite 5–8 years of experience in consulting, business development, or strategic roles in the space, defense, or technology sectors
Proven track record of managing projects and client relationships
Master’s degree in engineering, business, economics, or related fields Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Japan at the time of application. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Prior experience working with Japanese space stakeholders, government bodies and procurement agencies
Established network within the Japanese space industry, including launch service providers, satellite manufacturers, operators, and system integrators
Background in consulting, preferably serving Japanese authorities or international space organizations
Experience in international collaboration projects involving Japan and foreign space agencies or companies
Knowledge of space policy, security, or regulatory frameworks
Familiarity with market intelligence tools, economic modeling, or business case development
