Sobre el puesto

This position is with the Global Strategic Communications Council (GSCC), a global network of communications professionals in the field of climate, energy and nature. GSCC is a programme hosted by the Meliore Foundation.

We're hiring an experienced communications specialist to work alongside the GSCC Built Environment Team in a dynamic global network of strategic communications professionals in the field of climate and energy. The position is based in Spain, preferably Madrid or Barcelona.

Reporting to the GSCC Built Environment Europe Manager, the Associate will implement strategic advice and actively craft and deliver communications assets to a diverse set of partners in order to enhance the public debate in Spain on housing decarbonization, energy efficiency, and climate solutions. They will also be expected to collaborate with the team in a strategic setting.
The ideal candidate will be growth-oriented and support the delivery of projects from the idea stage through to execution. Working closely with a supportive team, you will report to a manager to bring projects to life, balancing collaborative alignment with the ability to manage your assigned tasks effectively.

You work well in a team-oriented environment and are comfortable managing day-to-day delivery under clear guidance. You have a strong baseline knowledge of the Spanish political and media landscape, including how national regulations and regional dynamics shape policies around housing, construction, or energy. You understand storytelling and how narratives can support momentum toward a fair and sustainable built environment. You are committed to using your communications skills to support the transition to energy-efficient homes and buildings across Spain.

This is an open-ended position directly tied to specific project funding. The operational continuity of the role is contingent upon the renewal and ongoing availability of this dedicated funding stream.
How you'll contribute

In close cooperation with a network of partners in Spain as well as colleagues in Spain and across Europe, the associate will be responsible for:

Impact monitoring: Keeping track of media mentions, monitoring outcomes, and contributing to tracking data to help improve future campaign activities.

Event coordination: Coordinating online or in-person events in Spain, helping with the initial concept and supporting delivery through to completion.

Spokespeople cultivation: Identifying and elevating diverse voices and spokespeople who can talk convincingly about the benefits of better homes and buildings.

Political and media tracking: Monitoring the political and media debates in Spain regarding building standards and energy efficiency to help identify where communications can be usefully deployed.

Reactive outreach: Delivering timely reactive communications support and outreach to national and regional partners.
