About this role

We are currently partnering with a progressive regional health service to recruit a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist in Intensive Care Medicine to join a growing and well-supported ICU team on the Fraser Coast.
This role is based within a major regional referral hospital (Tier 2 facility) forming part of a broader health service supporting approximately 225,000 residents across the Wide Bay region.
The hospital provides a comprehensive range of services including emergency, medical, surgical, paediatrics, maternity and critical care, with strong integration across multiple sites including Bundaberg and surrounding rural facilities.

The ICU department supports the Fraser Coast region and offers:
A broad case mix including medical, surgical and emergency presentations
Close collaboration with ED, Anaesthetics and inpatient teams
Stabilisation and management of critically unwell patients with transfer pathways to tertiary centres where required
Strong involvement in teaching, supervision and regional training pathways

You will play a key role in:
Delivering high-quality intensive care services
Supervising and mentoring junior doctors and trainees
Participating in clinical governance, audit and research
Contributing to after-hours and on-call ICU roster

Salary & Package (as per QLD Health Award)
L25 – L27: $259,072 – $274,678 p.a.
L18 – L24: $216,643 – $251,642 p.a.
L13 – L18: $187,569 – $216,643 p.a.
Total remuneration: up to $549,694 p.a. (including allowances and benefits)

Requirements
MBBS or equivalent with AHPRA registration (or eligibility)
Fellowship of CICM or equivalent specialist recognition
Demonstrated ICU experience and clinical leadership skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Commitment to teaching, research and quality improvement
