<p><strong>Opportunity Overview:</strong></p> <p>We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our Integrations team. In this role, you will be&nbsp; designing, developing, and scaling highly available healthcare integration systems supporting prior authorization workflows across providers, payers, and delegated entities. You'll direct a fast-paced, autonomous,agile team of software engineers in the design, development, and operational support of a growing enterprise integration platform. This is an opportunity to drive technical excellence at the intersection of healthcare interoperability and modern distributed systems.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Technical Leadership:</strong> Provide technical leadership across architecture, system design, platform scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.</li> <li><strong>Platform Engineering:</strong> Design and build scalable, resilient, and high-performing systems that support critical business workflows and enterprise integrations.</li> <li><strong>Integration Solutions:</strong> Lead the development and maintenance of secure integrations with internal and external platforms, partners, and third-party systems.</li> <li><strong>Cloud &amp; Automation:</strong> Drive cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, and software delivery practices that enable reliable and efficient releases.</li> <li><strong>Distributed Systems:</strong> Design and support event-driven and distributed architectures that enable scalable and fault-tolerant processing.</li> <li><strong>Operational Excellence:</strong> Establish monitoring, observability, and incident response practices to ensure system reliability, performance, and availability.</li> <li><strong>Quality Engineering:</strong> Champion automated testing, quality assurance, and engineering best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.</li> <li><strong>Production Support:</strong> Lead the resolution of complex production issues and drive continuous improvement in platform stability and operational efficiency.</li> <li><strong>Cross-Functional Collaboration:</strong> Partner with product, operations, data, security, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with organizational goals.</li> <li><strong>Agile Delivery:</strong> Lead technical planning, design reviews, backlog refinement, and delivery execution within an agile development environment.</li> <li><strong>Security &amp; Compliance:</strong> Ensure solutions adhere to security, privacy, regulatory, and compliance requirements while following industry best practices.</li> <li><strong>Mentorship &amp; Team Development:</strong> Mentor engineers, foster technical excellence, and contribute to hiring, coaching, and career development initiatives.</li> </ul> <p><br><strong>What you’ll need:</strong></p> <p><strong>Must-haves</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field; or equivalent experience.</li> <li>11+ years of experience in software development, designing, building, and supporting scalable enterprise applications and distributed systems.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with Java, Groovy, and Spring Boot for building enterprise-grade integration services and APIs.</li> <li>Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and integrations with external systems, third-party platforms, and partner applications.</li> <li>Expertise with authentication/authorization frameworks, secure API design, and access control mechanisms.</li> <li>Experience with data modeling and storage design across relational and non-relational database technologies.</li> <li>Experience with event-driven architecture patterns and asynchronous messaging using Apache Kafka, AWS SQS, and SNS.</li> <li>Experience with cloud infrastructure on AWS, Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, and containerization with Docker.</li> <li>Experience with CI/CD pipeline design, deployment automation, and DevOps practices.</li> <li>Experience with observability, monitoring, and alerting tools for production system visibility and performance analysis.</li> <li>Working knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards including HL7 FHIR, X12 EDI, and HL7 v2.</li> <li>Familiarity with clinical ontologies such as SNOMED CT, LOINC, and ICD-10.</li> <li>Ability to navigate ambiguity, influence stakeholders, and drive technical decisions across teams.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice-to-haves</strong>:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in healthcare technology, health plan operations, or prior authorization systems.</li> <li>Deep experience applying FHIR resources, X12 transaction sets, and HL7 messaging in production integration workflows.</li> <li>Advanced knowledge of clinical terminologies (SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10) for data mapping and clinical decision support.</li> <li>Cloud architecture certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect).</li> <li>Demonstrated success leading distributed engineering teams.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Additional Information</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Reporting to:</strong> Raj Pyda</li> <li><strong>Team:</strong> Integrations Engineering, The team…
