About this role
STAFF PRODUCT DESIGNER
Join GoodParty.org as a Staff Product Designer and help redesign how democracy works by building tools that empower everyday people to lead. You’ll design intuitive, high-impact experiences that support Independent candidates and elected officials reshaping how communities are represented.
This is a rare opportunity to apply your craft to a mission that directly affects millions of lives. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of shipping high-impact products in consumer internet companies or consumer-quality SaaS companies, including at least 2+ years in a staff or principal-level individual contributor role. You will own complex product areas while mentoring other designers, establishing design standards across the platform, and leveraging cutting edge AI tools to make a massive impact.
About GoodParty.org:
A majority of voters, including more than half of Millennials and Gen Z, say that neither major party represents them. GoodParty.org is the solution.
We’re on a mission to make people matter more than money in our democracy by empowering Independent candidates to run, win, and serve.
Since 2024, 13,000+ Independent candidates have won their races across all 50 states using our tools, training, and support. Our AI-powered platform provides free tools to launch and run campaigns, connect with voters, and serve their communities effectively - without needing a political party and big donors. What our users have in common is that they prioritize people over parties and community over special interests. We’re not a political party, we’re a platform and a movement to democratize democracy.
Founded by serial entrepreneur Farhad Mohit ($1B+ in exits, including Flipagram/TikTok and Shopzilla), GoodParty.org is building solutions so we can have a truly representative democracy where society’s biggest problems are solved.
What you'll do:
- Own end-to-end design for complex, high-impact product areas that serve candidates and elected officials across the country.
- Drive design strategy and execution for features that bridge our Win (campaign tools) and Serve (constituent services) product lines.
- Evolve our design system, creating patterns and components that enable the team to ship consistently at speed.
- Elevate our brand expression across product touchpoints, ensuring every interaction reflects our mission while remaining accessible to all users.
- Pioneer AI-powered design workflows that accelerate our team's velocity while maintaining craft excellence.
- Conduct deep user research with candidates, elected officials and citizens to discover what a truly representative democracy experience looks like.
- Implement design changes directly in our codebase using tools like Claude Code and Cursor, speeding up engineering dependencies and iteration cycles.
- Mentor peer designers on craft excellence, systems thinking, and user research methodologies.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and product leadership to ensure our most complex features ship on time and exceed user expectations.
- Reports to the Chief Product Officer.
