<p>We are looking for a <strong>Performance Architect</strong> to join our Sportsbook Technology organization and take end‑to‑end ownership of <strong>performance as a first‑class architectural concern</strong> across our platform.</p> <p>This role has a <strong>strong focus on frontend performance</strong>, while also requiring solid understanding of <strong>infrastructure, networking, and distributed systems</strong>, enabling close collaboration with other Architects, DevOps, and engineering teams.</p> <p>The Performance Architect will work across <strong>current and future Sportsbook initiatives</strong>, ensuring that performance, scalability, and responsiveness are built in by design, not treated as an afterthought. It may not be for the faint-hearted, but if you thrive on innovation, enjoy pushing boundaries and want to be part of a diverse, international team, then you’ll fit right in at Betsson.</span></p> <h2><strong>A taster of what you will be involved with: </strong></h2> <h3><strong>Performance Architecture & Strategy</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Define and own the <strong>performance architecture</strong> for Sportsbook applications, with a primary focus on <strong>frontend performance and customer‑perceived latency</strong>.</li> <li>Establish and maintain <strong>performance‑related non‑functional requirements (NFRs)</strong> across web, mobile, and platform layers.</li> <li>Work with Product, Engineering, and Architecture to ensure performance goals are aligned with business objectives and customer experience.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Frontend Performance Excellence</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Drive best practices for frontend performance including (but not limited to): </li> <li><em>Rendering and hydration strategies</em></li> <li style="font-style: italic;"><em>Asset loading, caching, and CDN usage</em></li> <li style="font-style: italic;"><em>Web performance metrics (Core Web Vitals, TTFB, LCP, CLS, INP, etc.)</em></li> <li>Collaborate closely with frontend teams to review designs, implementations, and technical decisions from a performance perspective.</li> <li>Partner with <strong>Solution Architects, Platform Architects, and DevOps</strong> to identify performance bottlenecks across: <em>Infrastructure, Networking, Cloud and Kubernetes environments, APIs and backend dependencies</em></li> <li>Contribute to architectural decisions and roadmaps to ensure long‑term scalability and performance sustainability.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Analysis, Measurement & Improvement</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Define and promote performance measurement standards, tooling, and dashboards.</li> <li>Lead performance analysis, load testing, and capacity planning activities together with relevant teams.</li> <li>Participate in <strong>incident reviews and root cause analysis</strong>, ensuring performance learnings are fed back into architecture and design.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Communication & Enablement</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Act as a <strong>performance ambassador</strong> across the organization.</li> <li>Communicate complex performance topics clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.</li> <li>Mentor teams and help raise the overall performance maturity of the Sportsbook organization.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <h2><strong>What we are looking for</strong></h2> <h3><strong>Technical Skills</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Strong experience with <strong>frontend performance engineering</strong> in large‑scale, high‑traffic systems.</li> <li>Solid understanding of: <ul> <li>Web architectures and modern frontend frameworks</li> <li>HTTP, networking fundamentals, caching, and CDNs</li> <li>Cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS) and containerized environments (e.g. Kubernetes)</li> </ul> </li> <li>Experience designing and reviewing systems with <strong>performance, scalability, and resilience</strong> in mind.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Architectural & Collaboration Skills</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Proven experience working in <strong>architectural or cross‑team technical roles</strong>.</li> <li>Ability to influence architectural decisions without direct authority.</li> <li>Comfortable collaborating with multiple teams and architectural disciplines.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Communication</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.</li> <li>Ability…
