To learn more about Age of Learning, visit AgeofLearning.com.</p></div><h3>Summary:&nbsp;</h3> <p>AI-Native engineering is the new baseline at Age of Learning — engineers who do not just use AI tools occasionally, but design their workflows around them, orchestrate agents to plan and execute work, and treat AI coding agents as a first-class collaborator. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, AI Native to join the ABCmouse product team within Digital Consumer Products. You will help us build high-performance web and mobile applications that reach millions of learners, while helping us craft how AI-Native engineering takes shape on our team.</p> <h3>AI Native Expectations:&nbsp;</h3> <ul> <li><strong>Daily use:</strong> You use AI coding agents (for real, substantive tasks — analysis, coding, refactoring, testing, navigating codebases, and documentation. Not just research or autocomplete.</li> <li><strong>Velocity:</strong> We expect engineers who use AI well to operate with meaningful leverage — doing more at the same time and improving productivity for themselves and their team.</li> <li><strong>Team leadership:</strong> As an AI champion, you share what works, whether that be skills, plugins or MCP’s, providing guidance and setting standards on usage for your team and the company as a whole.</li> <li><strong>Continuous learning:</strong> The tooling is changing fast. You stay current and bring recommendations to the team when something would meaningfully improve how we work.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h3>Responsibilities:</h3> <ul> <li>Apply agentic workflows across the SDLC — refactoring, test generation, debugging, documentation, codebase navigation — and help evolve the team’s AI-Native engineering practices in the process</li> <li>Own features end-to-end through production — monitor what you ship and use data to validate your assumptions</li> <li>Drive technical decisions and architectural direction for your area of ownership; the code you ship sets the standard for the team</li> <li>Leave the codebase cleaner than you found it — refactoring is not a separate backlog item, it is part of how you ship</li> <li>Partner with Product, Design, and stakeholders to align on scope, priorities, technical tradeoffs, and delivery timelines</li> <li>Identify, design, and develop features and functionality within applications for deployment to web, iOS, and Android</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h3>Minimum Qualifications:</h3> <ul> <li>5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally consumer-facing and content-driven web or mobile applications</li> <li>2+ years of hands-on experience prompting, evaluating, and building with LLMs and AI coding assistants</li> <li>Deep experience with agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and context window management</li> <li>Track record of using AI tooling to multiply your own output — not just as autocomplete, but as a genuine development partner</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to own features end-to-end through production, including post-release monitoring and learning from data</li> <li>Shipped production cross-platform mobile applications to both the iOS App Store and Google Play</li> <li>Familiar with software design paradigms and design patterns</li> <li>Solid understanding of the full software development life cycle</li> <li>Experienced with performance tuning and optimization techniques for both front-end and backend systems.</li> <li>Strong communication and collaboration skills</li> <li>Genuine excitement for helping define what AI-Native engineering means at Age of Learning</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h3>Preferred Qualifications:</h3> <p>&nbsp;</p> <div> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree or related subject</li> <li>Experience with MCP, function calling, or tool-using agents</li> <li>Experience with Svelte or SvelteKit</li> <li>Experience consuming REST and/or gRPC APIs</li> <li>Proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript</li> <li>Proficient in Flutter and Dart</li> <li>Experience working in an Agile development framework</li> <li>Educational and/or game development experience</li> </ul> </div> <p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p>The estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is below.
