SENIOR STRATEGIC HEALTHCARE PARTNER: Global Hospital & Biosimilars
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Senior Strategic Healthcare Partner (SSHP) is a strategic, non-demand-generating role that strengthens partnerships across the Ontario healthcare ecosystem in gastroenterology, rheumatology, and hospital/institutional care.
With a distinct, non-promotional mandate, the SSHP builds trusted relationships with healthcare professionals, institutions, hospital leaders, and community stakeholders to identify care gaps and co-create solutions that improve access, timeliness, care pathways, patient flow, system capacity, and sustainability.
The SSHP collaborates compliantly across functions, including field and Head Office partners, while preserving its non-promotional mandate. As a strategic bridge between Pfizer and healthcare stakeholders, the SSHP translates system insights and evolving healthcare and pharmacy practices into quality-improvement initiatives aligned with Global Hospital & Biosimilars priorities.
The role requires a creative, entrepreneurial, customer-centric, proactive leader who can navigate complex healthcare environments, build trusted partnerships, and mobilize stakeholders around innovative solutions that improve access and support a more efficient, sustainable healthcare system.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gastroenterology (IBD) / Rheumatology
• Partner with community and academic gastroenterology and rheumatology stakeholders to understand patient journeys, care pathways, system readiness, unmet patient and healthcare-system needs, and barriers to timely, appropriate care.
• Co-create scalable workflow and care-pathway solutions that improve patient flow, practice capacity, and care delivery.
• Generate system insights that support efficient, sustainable, patient-centred care models.
Hospitals & Institutions
• Serve as a strategic partner to hospitals and institutions, focusing on oncology biosimilars, supportive care, and anticoagulation.
• Understand institutional care pathways, operational challenges, and system readiness.
• Collaborate with institutional stakeholders to improve infusion capacity, patient flow, continuity of care, and, where appropriate, institution-led biosimilar transitions.
• Co-create quality-improvement initiatives that optimize capacity, resources, and sustainability.
• Build trusted relationships with pharmacy directors, clinic managers, medical leaders, and other key stakeholders.
Strategic Partnerships & Healthcare-System Innovation
• Explore innovative partnership models, tools, workflows, and care-enablement approaches addressing identified patient and system needs.
• Support standardized processes and frameworks aligned with Canadian evidence-based guidelines, expert opinion, and stakeholder needs.
• Lead or support compliant Strategic Healthcare Enhancement Projects and quality-improvement initiatives with appropriate governance and defined responsibilities.
• Generate and communicate healthcare-system insights to inform organizational understanding and strategic planning.
• Support sharing and scaling relevant quality-improvement learnings across healthcare settings.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance
• Collaborate compliantly with cross-functional colleagues, with clear roles and responsibilities within each function’s scope.
• Maintain the SSHP’s distinct, non-promotional, non-demand-generating mandate in all activities and engagements.
• Represent Pfizer at relevant conferences, meetings, and events as a credible strategic partner.
• Conduct all activities according to applicable Pfizer policies, procedures, non-promotional standards, and compliance requirements.
• Identify and report adverse events and product complaints in accordance with Corporate requirements, including Your Reporting Responsibilities requirements.
What You Bring
• University degree in Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Business Administration, or a related field; an advanced degree is an asset.
• 8+ years of relevant pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or healthcare experience, including strategic partnership, institutional, field-based, or healthcare-system roles.
• Experience in quality improvement, co-creation, system partnerships, and/or complex projects.
• Strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare environment, patient pathways, and evolving healthcare and pharmacy models.
• Strategic, creative, and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to translate complex healthcare needs into practical, scalable solutions.
• Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with credibility among senior healthcare stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and collaborate effectively and compliantly across functions.
• Strong project management, strategic planning, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong initiative, adaptability, and comfort navigating complexity and ambiguity.
• Experience in specialty care, biologics, biosimilars, gastroenterology, rheumatology, and/or hospital-based care is an asset.
• Bilingualism is an asset.
