Since 2014, we’ve directed over $7 billion in grants as part of our mission to help others as much as we can with the resources available to us. It's also a pivotal moment for Coefficient Giving: we gave around $1 billion last year, and are on track to more than double our giving this year.

We're significantly scaling our grantmaking and rapidly growing our team to support it, in part because we expect to see large increases in philanthropic funding flowing into the fields where we work in the coming years. Accelerating now lets us fill cost-effective gaps today, and helps lay the groundwork for new donors to step in as well.

Growth at this pace means the work is fast, ambiguous, and often messy: we need to make big decisions, pivot quickly, and make trade-offs. We think this is a uniquely high-leverage moment, and we're looking for people who find that energizing.

ABOUT THE SALESFORCE TEAM

Our Salesforce team builds and maintains the systems that power CG's grantmaking and partnerships operations. Salesforce is our system of record, but it sits within a broader ecosystem of tools — such as Airtable, data pipelines, form tools like FormAssembly and Fillout, and integrations like Ironclad — that together support how grants move from decision through payment. Our org supports over 230 active users, including CG staff and external users. While our record volume is relatively low, our work tends to be high-touch and high-complexity, with heavy customization and a deliberately code-first build. The Salesforce team acts as internal consultants to many teams at CG. We care about understanding the problem as much as we do building the solution, and we're always looking for ways to remove friction, improve data quality, and make our systems more useful to the people who rely on them.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role involves two primary responsibilities: 1) developing a deep understanding of what CG's stakeholders need, and 2) building it in Salesforce. On the “Administrator” side, you’d own a meaningful share of our incoming ticket triage rotation and make hands-on declarative updates in Salesforce, working closely with our team. On the “Business Analyst” side, you’d own intake, discovery, and requirements work so that projects have build-ready requirements and get shipped faster. Requests increasingly span Salesforce, other tools like Airtable and Slack, Claude-powered workflows, and manual processes, and you’d help gather requirements for workflows that involve many tools, with a strong understanding of how changes in one may affect connecting workflows.

While we currently expect our ideal candidate to spend 60% of their time on administration and 40% on business analysis, it is possible that the exact balance could shift depending on team needs and the candidate’s particular strengths.

You would join a growing Salesforce team — spanning Eastern, Central, and Brasília time — that meets daily and works closely together. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. Our system keeps getting more complex as CG grows, which means more to administer, more processes to document, and more opportunities to make how we work better!

WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES

SALESFORCE ADMINISTRATION AND DELIVERY

- Configure and build on platform, delivering enhancements and new features declaratively — e.g. custom objects and fields, validation rules, screen flows, page layouts, permission sets, and complex cross-object formula fields and roll-up summaries.

- Own a meaningful share of our incoming ticket triage rotation alongside project work, responding to and resolving inbound tickets (cases) with high autonomy and ownership.

- Deploy changes from sandbox to production, working within our DevOps practices and suggesting improvements as you identify them.
