ABOUT THIS ROLE

We're hiring an extraordinary product designer: strong craft, strong product thinking, an exceptional eye. You'll be designer #2, working directly with our design lead (Rohail https://www.linkedin.com/in/rohail-khan1/) and CTO (Gautam https://www.linkedin.com/in/gautamgpt/), sharing ownership of the product's direction rather than executing specs handed down to you.

What you'll work on

- The financial platform, your primary focus: money movement, credit and capital, accounts, cards, and bill pay. Our customers are in these workflows every day, moving real money.

- Luma, our AI financial analyst: scenario planning, cash flow intelligence, and spend insight. Few teams anywhere have shown what a trustworthy AI experience looks like when it handles someone's money. You'll help define it.

- The design system: the patterns and components the whole product is built from. You'll help set the quality standard and hold the product to it.

Design tooling and practice are changing faster than they have in a decade, and Highbeam is a product-led company where the design team controls its own trajectory: what we own grows as we show what design can do. Joining now means you set the foundations, and you help answer a question most of the industry is still guessing at: what does AI-native fintech design look like?

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Design end-to-end experiences for payments, credit, and financial workflows and controls

- Design Luma's AI experiences: how it explains its reasoning, when it asks permission, what it does when it's unsure

- Scope, iterate, and ship with product and engineering every week

- Build the design principles, patterns, and system with the team

WHO YOU ARE

- 4+ years as a product designer, ideally in fintech, financial tools, or SMB products with a product-led growth motion. We're open to a wide range of experiences + seniority for the right talent.

- Craft and UX rigor: hierarchy, interaction, and polish that make complex workflows legible

- AI fluency, in both senses, is a requirement: you design with AI tools (Claude, Cursor, v0, or whatever replaces them next quarter),

- Enjoy tackling ambiguous problems and shaping them into a clear vision
