Aidn · Norway · 2026-08-09
About this role
📍 Oslo / Bergen / Remote
💰 Salary: 975 000 –1 145 000 NOK
At Aidn, we're building the next generation of health technology for Norwegian municipalities — nursing homes, home care, day centers, services young and old rely on every day. Today, we offer the best EHR (Electronic Health Record) in Norway and are the market leader in the municipal healthcare sector. We've won 100% of the tenders we've participated in, a testament to the strength of our product and design. It would be hard to overstate how rewarding this journey has been — and it is just the beginning.
As Aidn matures from startup to industry leader, the next few years will be ambitious, even by the standards of some of the most driven people around. We're not just maintaining a great product, we're discovering how to serve many different professional groups well, at a scale we haven't operated at before. To make this happen we need people who care deeply about crafting excellent user experiences and want to make our users work day smoother.
Sound exciting? Let's dive in.
How we design at Aidn
Our work shapes how people experience providing care — helping them work smarter, with less stress, so they can care for more people. We're visiting nursing homes and municipal offices constantly: following a home nurse for a day, sitting in on medication rounds, watching how people actually use our product on a busy Tuesday. We'd rather learn from real use early than perfect something in a mockup first, so we get in front of our users early and often.
We've collected 26 amazing, experienced designers who work across service design, UI design, content design, product design, and design systems. We don't require a healthcare background, designers at Aidn dig in, do the research, and learn the domain by working directly with our users. We partner closely with engineers and product, designing together and learning in real time, not only from our users but from each other.
Each team has a Trio — a product manager, a tech lead, and a design lead working together to ensure the product is viable, valuable, and desirable. The design lead is accountable for the user experience and maintains design quality and standards across their product area. To support product teams, we have a Content Designer, a Design System team, Product Operations, Data Analysts, and in-house medical professionals who bring domain expertise and help teams make better decisions.
We're so proud to have won the IXDA Hedersprisen and the DOGA-merket in recognition of our design. These awards matter because they validate what we believe: that excellent, thoughtful design that starts with real users, respects their context, and refuses to compromise on clarity actually changes how people work. We won them because we're obsessive about how people actually work, and we design accordingly.
All of this combined with excellent designers means we have the highest usability score in the Norwegian market.
What you'll be working on
We have a team that focuses on the red thread: navigation, information architecture, personalization, the landing page, the command bar — how people move through and experience the product.
This includes:
• Structuring and evolving navigation and information architecture across a large, complex product.
• Designing personalization: making sure the right information reaches the right role at the right time, across many distinct user types.
• Creating user-centered, accessible designs aligned with Aidn's design system and product principles.
• Prototyping and testing with real research behind it, working closely with engineers to bring designs to life.
• Communicating design decisions clearly, since this work touches nearly every other team in the product.
Who you are
You're an experienced designer who's comfortable owning a complex, cross-cutting problem, and who works well both independently and in close collaboration with others.
We're looking for someone who doesn't just use AI to write documents, but who's comfortable building with it. We expect you to prototype real, working software with agentic tools, automate parts of your own workflow, and know where AI creates and doesn't create genuine user value.
You likely have:
• 8+ years of design experience. Product, UX, UI, service, or digital design.
• Information architecture experience. You've structured or restructured navigation or IA for a complex product and specialized systems, ideally across multiple product areas.
• A feel for personalization. You've designed products that adapt to who's using them, based on role, context, or behavior.
• You use AI regularly as part of your work.
• Strong user-centered design skills. Research, testing, iteration.
• The ability to communicate complex ideas simply, to a wide range of stakeholders.
It’s a plus if you've:
• Worked in SaaS or high-paced product environments.
• Familiarity with healthcare, welfare services, or municipal systems.
Personal qualities:
• Self-driven and proactive
• Comfortable with ambiguity
• Empathetic and user-focused
• Pragmatic, positive, and solution-oriented
What success looks like
After 3 months
• You've built strong relationships with your trio and team, and have a solid grasp of how navigation threads through the wider product.
• You're actively creating and iterating on navigation and IA solutions using the design system.
• You're participating in user research with clinicians and case handlers.
After 6 months
• Your designs clearly support user and business goals, with measurable outcomes.
• You have a clear point of view on navigation and IA patterns across the product.
After 12 months
• You're seen as the go-to for navigation and IA expertise, not just within your team but across others.
• Users and municipal staff experience a clear improvement in how they navigate and interact with the product.
• The team has visibly raised its bar on how it uses AI in everyday product work.
