We are looking for a Lecturer in Data and Business Analytics to join Xamks Data Economy and Management unit. Your workplace will be at the Kouvola campus. The position is permanent and full-time, starting on 4 January 2027 or as agreed. The position is subject to a probationary period.
The position includes:
- teaching data and business analytics as well as research and development methods
- supervising students practical training and theses
- building the learning environment and communicating about it.

Your working days will include online teaching in Finnish-language programmes and classroom teaching in English-language programmes. Your immediate work community will consist of a versatile team of 5–7 teachers and the campuss multicultural student and staff community.

What do we expect from you?
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about new solutions and confidently takes on development tasks. We value the ability to explain even complex matters clearly and practically, as well as a willingness to act as a trusted sparring partner for students and partners. Most importantly, you have a genuine interest in data and its use in business and decision-making.
- A relevant Masters degree (for example, in business, information technology, statistics, data science or a related field)
- Three years of work experience in data analytics, business analytics or digital business
- The ability to plan and deliver teaching and to guide students and projects constructively, both online and in classroom settings
- Good cooperation and interpersonal skills in multidisciplinary teams and networks
- Fluency in Finnish and English for teaching and collaboration

You have expertise in at least some of the following areas: analytics tools (such as SQL, Python/R and BI tools), business, data-driven management and research methods. You are also committed to continuous learning. We value a doctoral degree and experience in higher education, as well as experience in building learning environments and communicating about them.
The qualification requirements for the position comply with the Government Decree on Universities of Applied Sciences: a relevant Masters degree and three years of work experience in the field to be taught. In addition, we require a teaching qualification; alternatively, it must be completed within three years of starting the position.
