This is a hands-on role for a seasoned communications professional who can think strategically, build and maintain strong media relationships, and drive day-to-day program execution. You will work closely with executive spokespeople, external agencies, and cross-functional teams to tell compelling stories across North America and Europe.

This role can be based out of Austin, TX or at our headquarters in Dallas, TX.

What will you be doing?

• Develop and execute global PR strategies for ShipStation Global across North America and Europe.

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with key journalists, media outlets, and influencers to secure coverage and build brand visibility.

• Draft and edit press releases, bylines, media statements, and other external communications that clearly convey key messages.

• Manage relationships with external PR agencies and own the agency budget, ensuring effective allocation, seamless execution, and clear accountability.

• Coordinate and schedule media opportunities for executive spokespeople, including interviews, press briefings, and speaking engagements.

• Develop briefing materials and spokesperson prep to support media interactions.

• Support customer and partner storytelling, including coordinating announcements and contributing to case study development.

• Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities and flag risks, sharing timely insights with leadership.

• Track, analyze, and report on PR performance metrics, with recommendations for continuous improvement.

• Collaborate with marketing, product, legal, and executive teams to align PR with broader business goals.

• Proactively identify and pursue speaking engagements, award nominations, and other visibility opportunities.

• Support crisis communications efforts as needed, ensuring timely and effective responses.

What are we looking for?

• 5-7 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications.

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field — or equivalent experience.

• Proven track record of developing and executing PR strategies across multiple markets.

• Strong relationships with journalists and influencers in the retail, e-commerce, technology, or logistics space.

• Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.

• Experience managing external PR agencies and agency budgets.

• Strong project and time management skills with high attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
