Senior Digital Design Engineer for ASIC Development

Take digital ASIC designs from early concepts all the way to mass production.

We are strengthening our ASIC Design Team at Murata Finland and are looking for a Senior Digital Design Engineer to join us in Vantaa, Finland. We work in a hybrid model, so partial remote work is possible.

Murata Finland develops leading-edge gyroscope and accelerometer safety-critical sensors for global automotive, industrial and healthcare markets. We design full-custom mixed-mode ASICs from concept to volume production, including wafer-level testing.

Your role

As a Senior Digital Design Engineer, you will work on digital ASIC design from early concept development through to mass production ramp-up. You will collaborate with design partners, Murata lead engineers, product managers and the design team throughout the development process.

What you bring

We are looking for an experienced digital design professional with:

- Technical education (e.g. B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D. or D.Sc.) with an emphasis on digital microelectronics
- 3+ years of experience in digital design
- Experience in Verilog (or VHDL) RTL coding
- Experience in design verification using digital design tools
- Understanding of the RTL-to-GDSII flow
- A proactive, systematic and careful way of working
- Fluent communication skills in English
- Good communication skills and the ability to understand various requirements and communicate effectively with external partners and internal teams
- An innovative mindset and interest in working in an international environment

Additional experience we value

Experience in any of the following areas is considered an advantage:

- Architecture planning and functional specification
- Implementation of DSP algorithms, such as FIR or IIR filters and floating-point MAC (Multiply and Accumulate) calculations
- Digital interfaces: SPI, I2C, I3C or PSI5
- Test bench reference models using e.g. Matlab, Simulink or Python
- Verification environments: UVM (Universal Verification Methodology) based on SV (SystemVerilog) or CocoTB (Coroutine cosimulation testbench) based on Python
- ATPG (Automatic Test Pattern Generation) and LBIST (Logic Built-In Self-Test)
- FPGA, e.g. as a development environment, for customer emulator use or test support
- Digital backend design, including synthesis, timing analysis, DFT, layout and power analysis
