Senior Backend Engineer (.Net and AWS)

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll design and own high-impact backend services using C#/.NET and AWS, influence architecture decisions, and help shape engineering best practices across the team. You'll work end-to-end—from development and deployment to monitoring and continuous improvement—while leveraging AI-powered tools to accelerate development, improve quality, and drive innovation.</p> <h3><strong>Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Design, build, and own secure, scalable cloud-native services using C#/.NET and AWS.</li> <li>Lead technical decision-making, balancing performance, reliability, security, and cost considerations.</li> <li>Use AI-powered tools to enhance coding, debugging, testing, and prototyping while ensuring quality and safety.</li> <li>Drive architectural improvements using Clean Architecture, CQRS, and event-driven design patterns.</li> <li>Collaborate with Product, UX, Security, DevOps, and Engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions.</li> <li>Mentor engineers and champion modern development practices, including AI-augmented engineering workflows.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>5–7 years of software engineering experience building secure, scalable applications in an agile environment.</li> <li>Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, and RESTful API development.</li> <li>Experience designing and operating cloud-native services within AWS environments.</li> <li>Solid understanding of Clean Architecture, CQRS/MediatR, and event-driven system design.</li> <li>Practical experience using AI tools to support software development, with the ability to critically assess and validate outputs.</li> <li>Experience with modern software delivery practices including Docker, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools.</li> <li>Strong communication, mentoring, and collaboration skills with a passion for continuous improvement.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>It would be great if you had these too, but we’ll support you if you don’t:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Experience with AWS services such as ECS/Fargate, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, EventBridge, or Step Functions.</li> <li>Familiarity with AWS CDK or Terraform for infrastructure automation.</li> <li>Experience with .NET Aspire, distributed tracing, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, or structured logging tools.</li> <li>Exposure to gRPC, Polly, feature flagging, or progressive delivery practices.</li> <li>Knowledge of AI governance, compliance, privacy considerations, and responsible AI adoption.</li> <li>Familiarity with Angular and TypeScript to support full end-to-end feature delivery.</li> <li>Experience evaluating and introducing new tools, frameworks, or AI-driven engineering solutions.</li> </ul> </div> <p><br><br><span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">#LIHybrid</span></p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><strong></strong></p> <p><strong>About Us</strong></p> <p><span data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody">Diligent is the AI leader in governance, risk and compliance (GRC) SaaS solutions, helping more than 1 million users and 700,000 board members to clarify risk and elevate governance.
