This is a DevOps-first role: you'll build and operate our delivery platform, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, environments, so teams can release safely, frequently, and on demand. In addition, you'll strengthen alerting and SLO practices across teams.

You'll bring an AI-first mentality to how delivery gets built. We want someone who reaches for AI tools like Claude Code to set up pipelines, build frameworks, and establish standards, not someone who defaults to doing things manually and treats AI as an afterthought. You'll develop delivery agents, skills, and automation that other teams can reuse.

You'll work embedded with an engineering team day-to-day on their infrastructure and delivery practices, while also driving platform standards centrally. You'll partner directly with engineering leadership to shape the delivery roadmap.

What You'll Do

Design and expand deployment automation, advancing the org toward on-demand and continuous production releases

Establish release practices and standards: progressive delivery, rollback, release tracking, deployment inventory teams can trust

Extend automation deeper into production paths, reducing manual steps and release toil

Define and evolve CI/CD pipeline standards, guardrails, quality gates, release tracking

Design and improve dev, staging, and on-demand environments across teams, spun up per branch or PR and torn down after

Build with AI, not just alongside it: develop delivery agents, Claude Code skills, and automation that set the standard for how the org uses AI in DevOps

Champion Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD workflows via GitHub Actions for secure, repeatable, scalable deployments

Partner with engineering teams on alerting and SLO practices; runbooks and incident response are owned by the engineering teams themselves

Partner with engineering teams on the operational practices that keep their services healthy at high volume

Embed with an assigned eng team day-to-day on infrastructure, deployment, and reliability work; mentor engineers, build team capability

Own the DORA metrics framework (lead time, deployment frequency, change failure rate, MTTR); establish baselines, mature measurement over time

Partner with eng leadership on the delivery roadmap; drive cross-team adoption of standards and tooling

What We're Looking For

AI-first mentality: you use AI tools (Claude Code, agents) to build frameworks and standards, not just to speed up individual tickets. You develop delivery agents and skills, not just consume them.

7+ years in DevOps, platform, or infrastructure engineering, ideally in fast-scaling environments

Strong hands-on Kubernetes and AWS experience

Deep IaC experience (Terraform and/or CloudFormation), able to set IaC standards for other teams

Proven CI/CD architecture experience: pipelines, quality gates, release automation

Experience with GitHub Actions (or similar CI/CD tooling) for automated, repeatable deployments

Experience managing SQL and NoSQL datastores at high volume

Solid scripting and automation skills (Python, Go, Bash, or similar)

Working knowledge of observability stacks

Strong collaborator, comfortable driving alignment across teams without authority

Comfortable building practices from scratch in a fast-paced environment

What Success Looks Like

Teams ship on demand — merge to prod in hours, no tickets, no waiting on you. Deploy frequency up a tier.

Faster without breaking — lead time and MTTR down while change-failure rate holds flat.

Platform does the work — safe path is the easy path; manual release steps trending to zero; envs self-service in minutes.

AI is in the ops loop — runbooks, alerting, incident response…
