About this role

GuidePoint Security provides trusted cybersecurity expertise, solutions and services that help organizations make better decisions and minimize risk. By taking a three-tiered, holistic approach for evaluating security posture and ecosystems, GuidePoint enables some of the nation’s top organizations, such as Fortune 500 companies and U.S. government agencies, to identify threats, optimize resources and integrate best-fit solutions that mitigate risk.

GuidePoint Security is seeking a Security Architect (Exposure Management Presales) to join our Exposure Management practice and serve as a trusted technical advisor to prospects and customers throughout the sales cycle. Applicants must currently live in our Northeast region (ideally New England or New York Metro) to be considered. This is a customer-facing position that will require travel as needed primarily in our Northeast region for customer meetings, workshops, conferences, and internal collaboration. You will work from home the rest of the time.

Role Overview

You will partner with account executives, practice leadership, and delivery teams to understand customer challenges, build confidence in GuidePoint’s capabilities, and develop practical Exposure Management solutions.

This is a customer-facing role focused on technical discovery, solution design, service positioning, and sales enablement. It is not focused on deep implementation or ongoing platform administration.

You will work across vulnerability management, attack surface management, cloud security, CAASM, remediation orchestration, and risk-based prioritization. You should be comfortable discussing both established technologies and emerging approaches to modern Exposure Management.

What You’ll Do

• Lead technical discovery calls and translate customer challenges into clear requirements and high-level solution designs.

• Help customers evaluate and improve vulnerability management, Exposure Management, asset visibility, prioritization, and remediation programs.

• Speak credibly about relevant technologies, integrations, and architectural trade-offs across platforms such as Tenable, Rapid7, Qualys, Axonius, Armis, Wiz, Orca, ServiceNow, and other Exposure Management technologies.

• Understand the relationships between vulnerability data, CAASM, business context, threat intelligence, cloud security, ticketing systems, and remediation workflows.

• Create high-level architecture diagrams, operating models, roadmaps, and solution recommendations.

• Validate technical feasibility and identify assumptions, dependencies, risks, and customer responsibilities before formal scoping.

• Position GuidePoint’s Exposure Management services, including assessments, platform enablement, optimization, platform operations, advisory services, and Vulnerability Management as a Service.

• Support account executives during customer meetings, presentations, workshops, and proposal development.

• Work with practice leadership to develop scopes of work that are technically sound, achievable, and aligned with customer outcomes.

• Collaborate with delivery architects and engineering teams to ensure smooth transitions from sales to implementation and ongoing service delivery.

• Stay current on Exposure Management trends, emerging platforms, competitive positioning, and changes in how organizations identify, prioritize, and reduce cyber risk.

• Help develop reusable sales materials, discovery questions, reference architectures, demonstrations, and solution frameworks for the practice.

What We’re Looking For

• Technically credible: You understand vulnerability management and Exposure Management ecosystems at a fundamental level, including scanning, asset discovery, cloud exposure, attack surface management, CAASM, prioritization, remediation workflows, and reporting.

• Consultative: You can uncover the real problem behind a customer request rather than immediately recommending a product or predefined service.

• Approachable and articulate: You can explain complex technical and programmatic topics in accessible language.

• Customer-focused: You listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and build trust quickly with both technical teams and executives.

• Broad rather than product-limited: You are comfortable working across multiple platforms and helping customers make decisions based on their environment and goals.

• Commercially aware: You understand how technical recommendations affect scope, delivery effort, risk, timeline, and customer expectations.

• Curious and adaptable: You are motivated to learn new technologies and approaches as the Exposure Management market evolves.

• Experience working within a customer security environment, consulting organization, technology vendor, or pre-sales engineering team is preferred.

• Experience assessing or validating multiple vulnerability management, Exposure Management, CAASM, CNAPP, attack surface management, or remediation technologies is highly valued.

• Deep implementation expertise across every platform is not required. We value breadth,…
