Safety and Occupational Health Specialist (OCONUS)

About this role

To qualify for a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist position your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Planning, organizing, leading, controlling and evaluating the safety and occupational health programs. Implementing policy and program directives published by higher echelons, analyzes the effects on contract safety activities and implementing changes as appropriate. Applying a broad knowledge of contract administration and safety policies and procedures in the performance of assigned duties to mitigate risk. Reviewing site plans for compliance with fire and electrical codes as set forth by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and DoD explosives standards and requirements. Performing risk management functions relating to all safety disciplines in support of accident or incident prevention.
