We’re looking for a Revenue Accounting Manager to strengthen our revenue accounting operations and help our processes scale with the business.

About the Role

You will report to the Senior Revenue Accounting Manager on our Revenue Accounting team and lead a small team of full-time accountants and outsourced or contract resources. You will own assigned revenue accounting areas, lead the related close activities, and partner across teams to support new products and improve accounting processes.

• Own the monthly close for assigned revenue accounting areas, overseeing journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and management reporting to deliver complete, accurate, and timely financial results in accordance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies.

• Maintain and enhance SOX controls for assigned revenue processes, ensure supporting documentation is complete, and coordinate responses to internal and external audit requests.

• Manage and develop the team, set priorities, review deliverables, and resolve close issues, escalating significant accounting judgments, risks, or delays to the Senior Revenue Accounting Manager.

• Partner with Technical Accounting, Finance, Legal, Data & Engineering, Sales Operations, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and business owners to implement accounting requirements and drive improvements to policies, processes, and systems.

• Lead process improvements and automation initiatives, including applying AI tools to tasks such as manual journal entries, reconciliations and variance analysis, to reduce manual work and improve the accuracy and efficiency of monthly and quarterly closes.

• Investigate discrepancies in automated and scripted revenue entries, partnering with Revenue Data to identify root causes, drive corrections, and prevent recurrence across transaction data flows.

• Document accounting processes for new products, create and maintain standard operating procedures, and update documentation as processes and systems change.

• Assess the accounting and revenue recognition implications of new products, features, and platform tests; draft initial accounting considerations and partner with Technical Accounting to resolve key judgments.

• Partner with Revenue Data and Engineering to review test transactions and source data in Snowflake, validate accounting entries before launch, and automate the related accounting.

We’re excited about you because…

• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including revenue accounting and experience with accounting operations and financial systems; a combination of Big 4 public accounting and corporate experience preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.

• 2+ years of experience directly managing and developing an accounting team; experience overseeing outsourced or contract resources preferred.

• Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and SOX/internal controls.

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and experience analyzing large volumes of transactional data; familiarity with ERP or revenue systems preferred.

• SQL experience preferred, with a willingness to develop and apply SQL skills to accounting investigations.

• Interest in applying AI and automation tools to improve accounting efficiency and accuracy.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain accounting requirements and data issues to non-accounting partners and all levels of management.

Compensation

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

• For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.

• For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).

The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado.
$124,500—$183,000 USD
