Regulatory Data Entry Associate
Datamaran B.V. · Leeuwarden · 2026-07-30
Over deze functie
Every ESG regulation our clients act on ends up in our platform because someone found it, read it and entered it correctly. That is what the Regulatory Team does, and it is what makes the product worth paying for.
Datamaran tracks ESG regulation across jurisdictions so that companies like PepsiCo, IBM, Mastercard and Kraft Heinz know what is coming before it lands. You will join our Regulatory Team in Leeuwarden, working alongside legal experts and using AI to analyse regulation and keep our regulatory database accurate, current and complete.
This is a role for someone who is precise, curious about regulation, and wants to learn how law, ESG risk and technology fit together. You will be trusted to work independently, while being fully supported by an international, collaborative team.
In this role, you will:Research ESG regulatory initiatives across jurisdictions: national and international regulation, EU Directives, reporting frameworks, guidelines and industry initiatives Run deep dives into specific jurisdictions or ESG topics to surface regulation we do not yet cover, and pick up ad hoc research in response to client questions Analyse regulation with AI support and structure it into our database to our quality standards Run quality control as part of the team workflow, so what reaches our clients is right Contribute to data quality projects and ad hoc requests across the wider team
You are curious, detail oriented, and motivated by the idea of working where regulation, sustainability and technology meet. You are comfortable with both data and written content, and you take pride in producing accurate work.
You will thrive here if you:Are precise and organised, keeping track of many moving pieces without losing any — attention to detail is the core skill in this role, not a nice to have Have strong research and data analysis skills, and know how to work through a dense legal or regulatory text Write in English at an advanced level, and can summarise complex information clearly and concisely Communicate clearly and work well in an international, collaborative team Bring a flexible, curious mindset, comfortable using AI tools to support your work, and adapting as our scope and tooling evolve with the regulatory landscape Nice to have, but not required:Familiarity with ESG regulation and global sustainability reporting An understanding of hard laws versus soft norms, and of different legal systems Experience with legal databases A background in law, political science, sustainability, international relations or similar Experience working with research, compliance or data-driven tools in a professional context
A few things people love about working here:The mission. Datamaran has been in ESG since 2014, before it was a category. The team genuinely cares about the impact our platform has, and that carries through every conversation. The learning. You will build real expertise in ESG regulation and legal research, and see first hand how AI is used in legal analysis at scale. Our legal experts are there to guide you. The team you join. Dana leads the Regulatory Team and is your hiring manager and direct manager. You join a global team with diverse legal backgrounds, and you sit in Leeuwarden. The pace. Twelve years old with scale-up energy. Following our Series C funding round in late 2024, we are growing across all departments and locations. The flexibility. Two days a week in our Leeuwarden office, the rest of the week is yours.
