Principal Product Owner, SMART MFG & AI

About this role

As a Smart Manufacturing Principal Product Owner at Micron Technology, Inc., you will drive digital and AI-enabled transformation initiatives to improve manufacturing and business performance.
You will work across business, engineering, technology, quality and data teams to identify opportunities, define business requirements, prioritize solutions and drive initiatives from concept through implementation.
The role requires strong program and stakeholder management capabilities, an ability to translate business needs into executable solutions, and a passion for leveraging AI, automation and data to improve organizational performance.
Responsibilities and Tasks

• Lead cross-functional Smart Manufacturing, digital transformation and AI-enabled initiatives involving business and technical teams.

• Partner with stakeholders to identify business challenges, improvement opportunities and potential digital or AI use cases.

• Translate business needs into clear requirements, use cases, priorities and implementation plans for technical teams.

• Lead and coordinate end-to-end programs involving multiple functions and stakeholders.

• Establish and manage project governance, KPIs, scope, milestones, dependencies, risks and change control.

• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Engineers, Solution Architects and domain teams to evaluate and develop appropriate solutions.

• Work with stakeholders to identify relevant data and information requirements to support business decisions and digital solutions.

• Develop business cases and define measurable business value and success metrics, such as efficiency, adoption, productivity, quality and financial impact.

• Prioritize initiatives based on business value, strategic alignment and implementation feasibility.

• Facilitate alignment between senior leadership, business stakeholders and technical teams.

• Drive adoption and change management to support successful implementation of new solutions.

• Champion an Agile and product-owner mindset, promoting iterative development, experimentation, continuous improvement and business-first prioritization.

• Ensure solutions align with relevant enterprise requirements, including data governance, security, scalability and platform standards.

Requirements
Must Have

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance or related discipline.

• 5+ years’ experience in high-tech manufacturing, digital transformation, technology consulting or program management.

• Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional programs involving business and technical stakeholders.

• Strong experience in project/program governance, KPI management, prioritization and change management.

• Experience translating business needs into requirements and actionable solutions.

• Experience driving digital, automation, analytics or AI-enabled transformation initiatives.

Highly Desirable Skills

• Experience with data analytics, visualization, automation or AI tools, such as Power BI, Power Automate, Microsoft Power Platform or equivalent.

• Understanding of Agile/Scrum and product/program delivery methodologies.

• Ability to define business requirements, use cases, KPIs and success metrics.

• Experience working with technical teams, including Data Scientists, Engineers and Solution Architects.

• Experience in the semiconductor industry.

• Knowledge of Smart Manufacturing, product quality, Assembly/Test, DRAM, NAND or HBM.

• Exposure to AI, machine learning, data science, cloud or MLOps.

• Experience with Jira/Confluence, prototyping or UI wireframing.

• Certifications such as PgMP, PMP, Scrum/Agile or Change Management.
