Reporting to: Packhouse Manager
Our client in the agricultural sector is looking to appoint a motivated Packhouse Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day management of packhouse operations. This opportunity is ideal for an organised and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is eager to grow within the fresh produce industry.

Key Responsibilities
Assist with the coordination and supervision of daily packhouse activities, including managing staff and workflow
Maintain strong operational oversight to ensure consistent product quality and accurate packhouse processes and documentation
Monitor and manage packaging material stock levels, ensuring timely replenishment
Support the development and implementation of best practice operational procedures
Promote and maintain high standards of health and safety within the packhouse
Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and quality assurance standards
Ensure all products meet required specifications for both local and export markets

This position would suit a detail-oriented and observant individual who is well organised and able to perform effectively in a demanding production environment.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Relevant tertiary qualification
Previous supervisory or management experience will be advantageous
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Good numerical ability and planning skills
Self-motivated, disciplined and able to work effectively within a team
High levels of integrity and reliability
Ability to work independently while meeting operational targets and deadlines
Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required
Exposure to food safety or quality systems such as HACCP, BRC or similar would be beneficial
Experience in a soft fruit or labour-intensive packhouse environment will be advantageous
Own reliable transport is required
Ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure environment
