Operations Assistant

G MASS are working with a leading Lloyd's Managing Agency to appoint an Operations Assistant into their Syndicate Operations team. The role sits within a busy operational function supporting Underwriters day to day, covering risk entry, data quality checks, and the handling of signing and claims messages. This is a good opportunity for someone early in their Lloyd's market career to build broad exposure across risk processing, underwriting support, and the wider London Market, while working towards a recognised industry qualification. Please note this role is based in London.

Responsibilities: Enter risk and aggregate data into underwriting systems accurately and within agreed timeframes Carry out quality checks on risk data, flagging and resolving any discrepancies and escalating where needed Handle USM and SCM message processing, chasing down failures or exceptions to keep everything moving within SLA Act as a point of contact for Underwriters, helping transactions run smoothly and queries get resolved quickly Work with Team Leaders to stay on top of SLAs and team targets Flag ideas for improving accuracy and efficiency within existing processes Build relationships across Underwriting and wider Operations, becoming a trusted go-to for day-to-day queries Requirements Solid understanding of how Lloyd's syndicates operate and the processes involved Awareness of delegated authority versus open market business, and how they differ operationally and contractually Some exposure to London Market platforms such as PPL or Whitespace A sharp eye for detail and a genuinely high standard of accuracy Well organised, with a track record of juggling deadlines both solo and as part of a team Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with colleagues and external contacts alike Competent across Excel, Word and Outlook Benefits Salary: up to £42k Permanent Contract
