AFS Energy is growing, and so is the Legal & Compliance team. We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Legal Counsel to support the team. What you will do Participate in the analysis of (new) prospects to ensure that KYC/CDD documentation meets our standards and to assess the overall risk of their business model

Support the business with drafting, analysing and negotiating various (international) contracts

Participate in a framework to conduct compliance checks against laws and regulations before executing a transaction, and arrange communication with the Energy department when their advice is needed

Update, develop and/or review compliance and legal policies

Provide support to our Energy department on potential clients regarding AFS acceptance policies

Provide any other legal and compliance support when required

What we expect from you Master’s degree in Law

At least 1–2 years of experience as a corporate lawyer in a commercial environment or law firm

Proactive and hands-on approach

Strong communication and analytical skills

Excellent communication in English and Dutch (Spanish and/or Italian preferred)

Team player who works independently and in a structured manner, is operationally oriented and has a critical mindset
