<p>BuildOps is a modern, AI-native operational platform built specifically for commercial contractors. We connect field operations, projects, and back-office functions to create a single source of truth for the business, with deep integrations into customers’ accounting systems.</p> <h2>Role Overview</h2> <p>The <strong>Integration Solutions Architect (ISA)</strong> ensures seamless financial and data integrations between BuildOps and customers’ accounting systems, with a focus on accuracy, data integrity, and long‑term scalability. You will own accounting integration discovery, design, configuration, testing, and validation, serving as the bridge between Implementation, Product/Engineering, and customers’ finance teams.</p> <p>This role is ideal for someone with <strong>controller-level accounting expertise</strong> who loves solving complex integration problems, partnering consultatively with customers, and influencing stakeholders toward best practices.</p> <h2>What You’ll Do</h2> <h3>Lead Accounting & Integration Discovery</h3> <ul> <li>Lead structured discovery sessions with customer finance and accounting teams to understand <strong>GL structure, entities, dimensions/classes, and reporting needs</strong>.</li> <li>Document current-state accounting setups and integration workflows, including limitations, dependencies, and custom mapping requirements.</li> <li>Align closely with Solutions Architects and Data Analysts on workflow touchpoints and data requirements across implementation.</li> </ul> <h3>Design & Configure Accounting Integrations</h3> <ul> <li>Define field mappings, sync direction, and integration logic between BuildOps and accounting platforms (e.g., <strong>QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Vista, Spectrum</strong>).</li> <li>Establish configuration standards for GL accounts, entities/departments, classes/dimensions, and tax rules within BuildOps and the connected ERP.</li> <li>Configure and validate integrations in collaboration with Implementation Managers and customers’ accounting teams.</li> </ul> <h3>Test, Validate, and Troubleshoot</h3> <ul> <li>Build and execute integration test plans for <strong>AP (bills/expenses), AR (invoices/credits), POs, payments, and related workflows</strong>.</li> <li>Reconcile data between BuildOps and the accounting system, ensuring accurate end‑to‑end financial results prior to go‑live.</li> <li>Partner with Data Analysts to validate import/export data and resolve discrepancies, documenting root causes and resolutions.</li> </ul> <h3>Consult, Influence, and Advocate Best Practices</h3> <ul> <li>Act as the <strong>trusted integration advisor</strong> to customers, recommending BuildOps and accounting best practices that support their business today and set them up for future scalability.</li> <li>Balance empathy for customer constraints with clear guidance on standards, data hygiene, and process changes needed for a stable integration.</li> <li>Develop standardized recommendations and playbooks for recurring integration issues and patterns to drive consistency across accounts.</li> </ul> <h3>Collaborate Across Product and Customer Teams</h3> <ul> <li>Document integration gaps, product limitations, and bugs; propose and escalate solutions to Product and Engineering as needed.</li> <li>Provide clear integration documentation and handoffs to Customer Success and Support for post‑go‑live stability.</li> </ul> <h3>Key Outcomes</h3> <p>Success in this role looks like:</p> <ul> <li>Successful end‑to‑end sync validation before go‑live</li> <li>Accurate financial reconciliation between BuildOps and the accounting system</li> <li>Minimal post‑go‑live integration issues</li> <li>Clear, reusable documentation and high satisfaction from both customers and internal teams</li> </ul> <h2>Who You Are</h2> <h3>Experience & Knowledge</h3> <ul> <li><strong>Controller-level accounting background</strong> strongly preferred (former Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leader).</li> <li>Deep understanding of <strong>AP, AR, POs, jobs/projects, entities/locations, and revenue recognition</strong> concepts.</li> <li>Hands‑on experience with at least one mid‑market accounting platform (e.g., <strong>QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Viewpoint Vista, Spectrum</strong>); experience across multiple is a plus.</li> <li>Prior experience designing, supporting, or owning <strong>system integrations</strong> between operational and financial platforms (iPaaS, custom integrations, or native connectors).</li> <li>Comfortable reading and interpreting data structures (e.g., imports/exports, mapping tables, reconciliation reports).</li> </ul> <h3>Core Traits & Working Style</h3> <p>We’re looking for someone who embodies the following:</p> <ol> <li><strong>Curious</strong> – Naturally digs into how a customer’s business and accounting work, asking “why” and “what if” until the picture is clear.</li> <li><strong>Tenacious</strong> – Will not drop a complex integration or reconciliation issue until it’s understood, resolved, and documented.</li> <li><strong>Confident</strong> – Comfortable leading conversations with Controllers/CFOs and pushing back respectfully when a requested approach…
