JOB OVERVIEW

The Integrated Master Scheduler is responsible for the day-to-day development,

maintenance, analysis, and publication of the shipyard's Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)

across all active and planned vessels. The IMS provides the portfolio-level forecast for

major vessel milestones, vessel sequencing, shared resources, production capacity,

facility constraints, and conflicts across the orderbook. The Scheduling & Planning

Manager retains overall accountability and approval authority for the portfolio schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule covering all active and

planned new-construction vessels at the Franklin, Louisiana shipyard location.

• Integrate major hull milestones from detailed vessel schedules into a consistent

portfolio-level forecast.

• Maintain common WBS, activity coding, calendars, milestone definitions, data

dates, and schedule interfaces across the portfolio.

• Ensure vessel schedules and the IMS reconcile each update-cycle and that hull-

level milestone movement is visible in the site forecast.

• Model vessel sequencing through major production stages, facilities, and

constrained resources.

• Maintain logic for shared facilities and resources such as jigs, cranes, paint areas,

launch positions, test equipment, specialist labor, and other capacity-limited

assets.

• Identify conflicts between vessels, trade stacking, workspace congestion, resource

contention, and unachievable capacity assumptions.

• Evaluate portfolio scenarios and what-if alternatives for vessel starts, phase

transitions, facility occupancy, and resource allocation.

• Support management decisions on production priorities, vessel sequencing,

recovery strategies, and capacity requirements.

• Serve as day-to-day custodian of configuration, schedule logic, calendars,

baselines, data dates, forecasting, and schedule calculations.

• Perform portfolio-level critical and near-critical path analysis, float review,

milestone variance analysis, and schedule performance trending.

• Execute schedule variance and Schedule Performance Index (SPI) analysis where

applicable and develop milestone bar charts, S-curves, progress curves, and

exception reports.

• Review open ends, invalid logic, negative float, excessive float, lags, constraints,

out-of-sequence progress, and calendar assignments each update cycle.

• Allow valid logic and remaining duration to drive forecast dates rather than manually

moving activities to preserve desired milestones.

• Develop weekly and monthly portfolio schedule reports, milestone dashboards,

critical-path summaries, executive summaries, and recovery-option analyses.

• Present schedule exceptions requiring priorities, resources, or management

decisions.

• Maintain schedule change, delay/risk, decision/action, and milestone-variance

records in accordance with established controls.

• Maintain the standard vessel schedule architecture, common milestone definitions,

interface points, coding, and duration-history framework.

• Incorporate approved lessons learned from completed and repeat hulls into

standard planning templates.

• Support development of historical schedule and productivity data for future

estimating, capacity planning, and production forecasting.

• Partner with Vessel Planners to improve forecast quality without taking ownership

away from the detailed hull schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

- [5–8]+ years of planning/scheduling or project controls experience, including integrated or master schedule ownership, preferably in shipbuilding, marine, or complex fabrication environments.

- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software, including multi-project integration and resource- and/or cost-loaded schedules.

- Strong command of critical path method (CPM) scheduling, earned value concepts, and schedule performance metrics (SV, SPI).

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for reporting and data analysis.

- Experience maintaining an integrated master schedule across multiple concurrent new construction vessels or similarly complex programs.

- Familiarity with capacity planning, facility/berth constraints, and shared-resource management across a portfolio.

- PMI-SP, AACE PSP, or similar scheduling/project controls certification.
