About the Role
We are looking for medical professionals and individuals with healthcare knowledge to join a remote Medical Transcription Project supporting the development of AI language systems.
We especially welcome applications from:
Medical students
Allied health professionals
Medical interpreters
Medical transcriptionists
Healthcare workers or individuals familiar with medical terminology
In this project, you will listen to authentic Cantonese-English healthcare conversations and accurately transcribe them. The recordings feature natural Cantonese-English code-switching, with English medical terminology commonly used in healthcare settings. Medical knowledge is important to accurately identify and transcribe these terms.
We're primarily looking for candidates who are fluent in Cantonese and familiar with the Hong Kong accent. However, anyone who can confidently understand and write Cantonese is welcome to apply.

Requirements

Listen to Cantonese-English healthcare audio recordings and transcribe them accurately
Segment audio into natural speech units
Identify and label speakers when multiple voices are present
Add simple annotations (such as gender, age group, and emotion)
Review and validate transcription quality through Quality Control (QC) tasks, if assigned
Follow project guidelines to maintain high-quality outputs
Communicate with the Project Manager when clarification is needed
Complete assigned tasks within the project timeline
Project Details
Project Duration: 2 months
Project Period: July 20 – September 2026
Working Hours: Flexible (complete tasks anytime before the project deadline)
Time Commitment: At least 4 hours per day (including weekends when required)
Onboarding Training: Mandatory (TBD, during office hours, 9 AM–6 PM GMT+8)
Pay Rate
Execution: Earn approximately USD 2–3 per hour
Quality Control (QC): Earn approximately USD 4 per hour

What Do I Need?
Language Skills
Fluent in spoken Cantonese and able to write in Traditional Chinese
Familiar with the Hong Kong Cantonese accent (preferred)
Comfortable understanding Cantonese-English code-switching, including English medical terminology
Fluent in English for project communication and understanding project guidelines
Professional Background
Medical student, allied health professional, medical interpreter, medical transcriptionist, healthcare worker, or have equivalent familiarity with healthcare terminology and clinical conversations
Other Requirements
Candidates based in Hong Kong are strongly encouraged to apply, though applicants from other locations who can confidently transcribe Hong Kong Cantonese are welcome
Familiar with using a Cantonese Jyutping keyboard
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain at least 95% transcription accuracy
Access to a laptop or desktop computer, headset, and a stable internet connection

Bonus: Previous experience in medical transcription, transcription, audio annotation, data labelling, linguistics, or AI-related projects.
