Head of Technology Operations

FP Markets Group of Companies is a well-established multi-regulated broker, founded in Australia, offering traders access to CFD trading on Forex, Indices, Commodities, Stocks and Cryptocurrencies. We are growing and looking to recruit a Full-time Head of Technology Operation in our Cyprus office - a certified Great Place to Work®.
You will lead the teams that run and support the company's technology services, ensuring reliable service, effective support, safe changes, tested recovery and clear operational ownership.
Reporting to: CTO

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Technology Operations function, including Infrastructure & Cloud, IT Operations, Application Support, Business Systems & CRM, Trading Platform Operations and regional technology operations

• Ensure the reliable day-to-day operation, availability and support of business-critical technology services

• Establish clear service ownership, support coverage, operational procedures and escalation processes across the technology environment

• Lead the response to major technology incidents, coordinating service restoration, stakeholder communication, root-cause reviews and corrective actions

• Drive continuous improvements in incident management, service reliability, recovery and operational resilience

• Ensure robust backup, recovery and business continuity procedures are established and regularly tested

• Oversee operational changes and release readiness, ensuring that environments, monitoring, support, rollback procedures and handovers are in place before releases

• Oversee application support activities, including issue triage, diagnosis, authorised workarounds and escalation to Engineering and Product teams where required

• Support and deliver authorised technology and security-related operational initiatives, working closely with Information Security and Technology Risk

• Ensure operational security actions are properly assigned, tracked and completed with appropriate evidence

• Work closely with Engineering, Product, Data, Risk, Dealing and other business stakeholders to ensure effective technology service delivery

• Manage technology suppliers and service providers, including performance, costs, renewals and service quality

• Manage delegated technology budgets and maintain visibility over operational expenditure

• Lead, develop and mentor Technology Operations managers and specialists, including workforce planning, recruitment, succession planning and knowledge transfer

• Establish and monitor operational KPIs, service targets and improvement plans, providing regular reporting to the CTO

• Identify operational risks, capacity constraints, dependencies and service gaps, and ensure timely escalation and resolution

• Drive the successful onboarding and operational handover of new technology services

Candidate profile:

• Proven experience leading multiple Technology Operations teams, technology managers or substantial technology service providers

• Strong experience managing business-critical technology services in a high-availability environment

• Demonstrated success improving service reliability, incident management, operational support, recovery and change management

• Solid technical understanding of:

• Cloud and infrastructure

• IT operations and workplace technology

• Identity and access management

• Monitoring and observability

• Database reliability

• Application support

• Trading platforms and/or other business-critical systems

• Experience establishing clear service ownership, operational processes and effective service handovers

• Experience working with Information Security / Technology Risk teams and delivering security remediation activities

• Strong experience in people leadership, including managing managers, building teams, workforce planning and succession planning

• Experience managing technology budgets, suppliers and third-party service providers

• Strong understanding of incident response, business continuity, disaster recovery and operational resilience

• Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and business leadership

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured and hands-on approach to operational challenges

• Ability to work full-time from our Limassol, Cyprus office (Hybrid model after probation)
Nice to Have

• Experience within financial services, fintech, brokerage or another highly regulated environment.

• Experience supporting trading platforms or other high-volume, business-critical technology environments

• Experience with CRM and business systems engineering/integrations

• Experience managing technology operations across multiple regions

• Previous experience establishing, scaling or restructuring a Technology Operations function
