We need a talented, forward-thinking designer with a flair for the now and an on-trend approach. We are looking for creativity, a love of design and a can-do attitude. The Graphic Designer will provide creative input, design, development and execution of corporate materials. Materials will include InDesign presentations and product packaging, point of sale, planograms and other related materials created in Illustrator and Photoshop.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
Gather information necessary to prepare for upcoming projects and deadlines that you are assigned to.
Develop, design and layout concepts based on briefs and brainstorm sessions with project stakeholders.
Translate Design concepts into mock-ups, clearly illustrating your vision for review and discussion with project stakeholders.
Gain concept approvals through the submission of rough arrangements and layouts with appropriate project stakeholders.
Generate presentations to illustrate a range of products/packaging to be presented to customers, working with project stakeholders to reach the desired result.
Produce and edit final layouts (packaging/presentations/product specs) for approval to agreed deadlines and expectations.
Prepare approved layouts to be print-ready or for digital purposes.
Correcting and updating packaging artwork once Pre-production samples are reviewed timeously and accurately to go into mass production.
Co-ordinate with project stakeholders to meet set deadlines on all stages of a project.
Maintain and improve technical skills and knowledge through design workshops and reviewing professional publications etc.
Any other design tasks as required.
Skills and Competencies
Bachelor's degree in graphic design, industrial design, or interior design, or equivalent experience (portfolio from the past 12 months is required)
3 Years' experience
Excellent knowledge of graphic design software including CS Suite (Cloud based) – InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and CAD
Language – Strong verbal and written English language skills.
Attention to Detail – strong attention to detail with ability to methodically ensure all aspect of complex plans are accurately executed.
Results – Take ownership of outcomes required to ensure a high-quality result is delivered per the brief and to agreed timelines for each project.
Personal leadership – Personal awareness, confidence and organisation to manage personal work output to deliver effectively and efficiently on assigned projects. Must be able to work independently and proactively when required.
Attitude – Ability to generate high levels of energy with a focus on results and success and a genuine creative edge.
Collaboration – Ability to work in teams and influence outcomes through excellent communication, persuasion and negotiation skills both verbal and written.
Dealing with ambiguity – Ability to seek clarity from project stakeholders to align on and deliver on agreed upon deliverables.
Flexibility – Ability to adapt with changing situations and priorities in a fluid work environment.
Confidence – Ability to chase up and challenge project stakeholders to execute projects accurately.
Planning and coordination capabilities – ability to plan, coordinate and manage the execution of allocated deliverables within projects agreed timelines to consistently deliver on our customer pledge.
Learning mindset – Open to continual learning and personal development in pursuit of excellence.
Skilled in logotype design, packaging, typesetting, image manipulation/retouching and brand development in print and digital formats.
