Job Description
Delivery Associates is building a new kind of team—one that helps partners across government and the social sector move from policy ambition to real, AI-enabled products and services that improve outcomes for people.
We are hiring a Full Stack Software Developer to help build and ship these solutions. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role: turning defined problems and product direction into simple, functional, and reliable applications that can be deployed and used in real-world public sector environments.
In this role, you will work across the stack—from building backend services and APIs to implementing user-facing interfaces—to design systems that support real workflows. This includes connecting data, integrating APIs, structuring and transforming data, and incorporating external tools (including AI services) into usable, end-to-end processes.
You will work closely with an AI Solutions Engineer, a Product Manager, and Delivery teams to translate ideas into working products—often in contexts with fragmented data, tight timelines, and evolving requirements. Success in this role requires the ability to build quickly, keep solutions simple, and deliver working features that can be used and iterated on in real environments.
Core Responsibilities.
This is a contractor role embedded within small, high-performing delivery teams, where product ownership and execution are tightly integrated. In this role, you will:
• Build and ship functional features and applications in short, iterative cycles (typically 2–4 weeks)
• Contribute across the stack—developing user-facing interfaces (e.g., React/Next.js), backend services (e.g., Python/Node.js), and working with data layers (e.g., Supabase/PostGIS)
• Integrate APIs and external services (including AI services where relevant) into end-to-end workflows
• Work with messy, real-world government datasets—cleaning, structuring, and making them usable within applications
• Translate product and technical requirements into working code in collaboration with an AI Solutions Engineer and Product Manager
• Follow established architecture patterns and contribute to clean, maintainable, and well-structured codebases
• Support deployment and iteration of applications in cloud environments
• Test, debug, and improve systems to ensure reliability and usability in real-world contexts
• Contribute to reusable components and shared code where appropriate
Mindset.
We work well with people that are:
• Adaptable: Public sector work is dynamic. Our people are, too.
• Analytical: We identify, dissect, and solve complex problems.
• Accountable: We are a remote team. We work collaboratively but self-sufficiently; oversight is often minimal.
• Driven: Our work is important, so it’s important we do it well.
• Curious: We never stop learning from our clients, colleagues, and partners.
Required Skills/Experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience building and shipping production-grade applications
• Strong proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python) and ability to work effectively across the stack
• Solid experience designing and implementing full-stack systems, including frontend interfaces, backend services, and data models
• Experience integrating and working with APIs, including designing clean service interactions and handling external dependencies
• Ability to work with real-world data: querying, transforming, and structuring datasets for use in applications
• Experience building and maintaining reliable systems, including debugging, error handling, and performance considerations
• Ability to translate product and technical requirements into well-structured, maintainable implementations
• Comfort working in fast-paced, iterative environments with evolving requirements and tight timelines
• Sound engineering judgment, with a bias toward simple, reliable, and…
