Founding Software Engineer
Finna is building a personal cloud computer (Matrix) for the AI-agent era: a persistent environment where people can run coding agents, tools, applications, and long-running work without tying everything to one laptop.
We believe AI agents need more than chat windows. They need durable computers with memory, software, files, permissions, terminals, and continuity across devices.
We are looking for a Founding Software Engineer to join Finna AB in a full-time role based in Stockholm, with flexibility to work remotely within Sweden.
What you will do
You will work directly with the founding team across software engineering, product engineering, technical architecture, implementation, debugging, testing, deployment, and related technical support.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop and maintain software across backend systems, infrastructure, and user-facing product surfaces.

• Own technical work from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.

• Build reliable systems for persistent AI-agent sessions, cloud computers, terminals, files, applications, and realtime communication.

• Work with TypeScript services, Linux environments, PostgreSQL, APIs, realtime protocols, and modern web technologies.

• Investigate and resolve technical and operational problems.

• Improve system security, reliability, performance, observability, and maintainability.

• Work closely with users and the founding team to turn product needs into durable technical solutions.

• Contribute to technical direction, engineering practices, and product decisions.
What we are looking for

• Demonstrated experience building and shipping substantial software products or systems.

• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including APIs, data modelling, testing, debugging, and system design.

• Strong TypeScript skills and comfort working with Linux and PostgreSQL.

• Ability to work across backend infrastructure and user-facing product code.

• Good judgment around security, reliability, permissions, and data protection.

• High ownership and the ability to take work from an initial problem through production.

• Clear written and spoken English.

• Ability to work with substantial overlap with European working hours.
Experience with AI-agent runtimes, cloud infrastructure, terminals, realtime systems, developer tools, React, Electron, or mobile applications is helpful but not required.
We care about ability, judgment, ownership, and evidence of what you have built. We do not require a particular degree, pedigree, previous title, or arbitrary number of years of experience.
