At Apex, you don’t just join a company, you help shape what comes next.<br></span></p> <p class="x_MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p></div><p>Apex Companies, LLC, a leading national environmental consulting, engineering, and services provider, is seeking an experienced environmental consulting Project Manager to join our Southern California Team. This is a hands-on position with an approximate 75%/25% office/field schedule. Project assignments are across the state but mostly in Southern California. The successful candidate can work out of one of our 4 Southern California offices or from a home office in San Diego, Orange, or Los Angeles Counties.</p> <p><strong>The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of relevant experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Helping industry and government agencies comply with permitting and compliance with diverse federal, state, and local environmental and permitting regulations.</li> <li>Preparing concise proposals and detailed budgets responding to client needs.</li> <li>Reviewing and interpreting 40 CFR, California CCR, and local agency permitting.</li> <li>Coordinating with engineering staff to prepare engineering design plans.</li> <li>Monitoring projects to ensure completing work safely, on-time, and on-budget.</li> <li>Experience with diverse environmental regulations including those associated with hazardous waste generation, ASTs, and OSHA/Cal-OSHA.</li> </ul> <p>The ideal candidate is highly organized,&nbsp;detail-orientated&nbsp;and has the people and technical compliance skills needed to&nbsp;support&nbsp;and manage&nbsp;client&nbsp;projects. &nbsp;Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.</p> <p>Assignments will be varied and include but not be limited to AST/UST, SPCC, Industrial and Construction Stormwater Compliance, Hazardous Waste Management, and DW/WW/SW Infrastructure Inspection and Repair.</p> <p><strong>Your Responsibilities as an Environmental&nbsp;Compliance&nbsp;Project Manager:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Reviewing client requests to quickly identify the specific subset of federal, state, and local regulations applicable to their need.</li> <li>Preparing responsible proposals delineating the scope of work, schedule, budget, and significant assumptions.</li> <li>Efficient and accurate extrapolation of applicable federal, state, and local regulations.</li> <li>Coordinating and managing project teams which may include engineering, science, and field staff as well as subcontractors.</li> <li>Compiling all permit-required documents necessary for local and state permitting.</li> <li>Prepare environmental permits and reports for&nbsp;projects, facilities, and operations for&nbsp;clients.</li> <li>High degree of technical competency in permitting, AST/UST, and Hazardous Waste Generator requirements.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>What we're looking for:</strong></p> <ul> <li>BS in environmental&nbsp;science, or another related field.&nbsp;</li> <li>8+&nbsp;years of relevant professional experience in consulting, industry, or government in California.</li> <li>Proficient at independently&nbsp;researching,&nbsp;reviewing,&nbsp;and&nbsp;guiding compliance with&nbsp;environmental regulations at&nbsp;a Federal, State and Local&nbsp;levels;&nbsp;including SPCC,&nbsp;NPDES &amp;&nbsp;discharge permitting.&nbsp;</li> <li>Effective communication&nbsp;skills, and collaborative work&nbsp;ethic.</li> <li>Excellent&nbsp;writing&nbsp;and&nbsp;proficiency&nbsp;with Microsoft Office suite.</li> <li>Strong safety awareness, commitment to safe work practices, and valid driver’s license with a safe driving history.&nbsp;</li> <li>Comfortable with multi-tasking, a fast-paced work environment and supporting diverse environmental permitting, compliance, and investigation assignments.</li> <li>Current OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.</li> <li>QSD/QSP/QISP and CSST/CAC certifications are a plus.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why you'll love working with us:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Company-subsidized medical and dental</li> <li>Company-paid life, short, and…
