About this role
Here at Scout Motors, we're carrying forward the heritage of one of the most iconic American vehicles in history. A vehicle dating back to 1960. One that forged the path for future generations of rugged SUVs and trucks and will do so once again.
But Scout is more than just a brand, it’s a legacy steeped in a culture of exploration, caretaking, and hard work.

Respect for the past and the future by taking an iconic American brand that hasn’t been around for a while, electrifying it, digitizing it, and loading it with American innovation. Respect for communities by creating a company that stands for its people and its customers. Respect for both work and play, with vehicles that are equally at home at a camp site, a job site, or on a Tuesday commute. And respect for our customers by developing two powertrains that meet their requirements — an all-electric powertrain as well as the Harvester™ range extender powertrain which includes a built-in gas-powered generator with an estimated 500 miles of combined range.
At Scout Motors, we empower our talented, inclusive, and entrepreneurial teams to innovate. What makes a Scout employee? What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
• Own whole-vehicle validation definition and execution for electrical/electronic (EE) vehicle attributes, including system integration, software release validation, functional performance, and safe vehicle operation across real-world customer use cases.
• Define and execute EE validation strategies to ensure vehicle electrical systems, software features, and integrated functions meet performance, safety, and customer expectations across all vehicle operating conditions.
• Serve as the vehicle-level validation authority for Compound Release Deployments by supporting two key validation responsibilities: Safe-to-Drive (S2D) readiness checks and Functional Sprint Testing.
• Lead Safe-to-Drive validation activities to verify critical vehicle systems—including HV systems, LV battery, charging, body electronics, and other safety-related functions—operate correctly before software releases are deployed to internal vehicle fleets.
• Lead Functional Sprint Testing to validate EE-related vehicle functions across major domains, including chassis, propulsion, body interior/exterior, charging, and infotainment systems, identifying issues and driving software maturity through release cycles.
• Develop and manage vehicle-level test cases, validation procedures, and instrumentation strategies to evaluate electrical system behavior, software functionality, feature integration, and system interactions.
• Translate EE system requirements, software releases, and feature expectations into executable validation plans with measurable acceptance criteria.
• Ensure robust integration between EE systems, propulsion, chassis, body, charging, and software platforms to validate overall vehicle behavior and customer experience.
• Coordinate vehicle-level validation execution, including fleet preparation, software deployment validation, test planning, data collection, and issue identification across internal development vehicles.
• Establish traceability from requirements, software releases, test cases, execution results, and issue resolution using lifecycle tools such as Codebeamer, Jama, or Jira.
• Collaborate across EE Integration, Software, Propulsion, Chassis, Body, Infotainment, Charging, and Vehicle Integration teams to identify root causes, resolve issues, and improve software release quality.
• Analyze validation results, identify system risks and performance gaps, and provide data-driven recommendations to support software release decisions and vehicle readiness.
• Document validation of outcomes and provide release recommendations to ensure safe, functional, and customer-ready vehicle performance.
