Embedded Architecture Software Engineer
Are you an accomplished Embedded Software Engineer with a passion for architecting complex systems and a deep understanding of networking technologies? Ethernovia is looking for an Embedded Architecture Software Engineer to drive the development of our cutting-edge networking device software stack. As an Embedded Architecture Software Engineer, you will be pivotal in defining and developing the core software for Ethernovia's networking devices. Your work will directly influence the functionality, performance, and safety of our hardware, particularly within the demanding automotive sector. We are deeply committed to functional safety and best development practices, and we expect every team member to embody this commitment.
What You'll Do:
•
Lead the architecture, design, implementation, testing, and integration of Ethernovia's networking device software stack. This includes Embedded Firmware, kernel/user mode device drivers, stack extensions, debug, and test utilities, as well as automated unit/system testing.
•
Architect and develop device drivers that enable user applications, middleware, and operating systems to fully leverage our feature-rich hardware.
•
Design, develop, and optimize firmware that configures, controls, and monitors communication devices, interacting with host systems via device drivers to expose hardware features. This may also involve developing standalone firmware libraries within device drivers.
•
Ensure the firmware is built from the ground up for safety-critical automotive applications, adhering to stringent functional safety standards.
•
Actively champion and implement a culture of safety and best development practices, ensuring all architectural decisions and code implementations meet rigorous quality and compliance standards.
What You Bring:
Technical Qualifications:
•
Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Software or a related field.
•
Experience: Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in embedded software architecture and development.
•
Software Development Lifecycle: A strong and demonstrable understanding of the complete Software Development Lifecycle, with an emphasis on Architecture, Implementation, and Testing fundamentals.
•
Programming Expertise: Proficient in C/C++ Programming Language. Experience in Python is a plus.
•
Firmware Development: Extensive experience with Firmware, preferably for communication devices like Ethernet.
•
Embedded Systems: Strong experience with Embedded firmware, particularly for communication devices like Ethernet.
•
Integration & Testing: Proven experience with the integration and testing of firmware and low-level code.
•
Hardware Interaction: Hands-on experience with hardware and embedded processors, preferably for communication devices.
•
Code Optimization: Expertise in efficient code practices for code footprint and performance.
Nice-to-Have Experience With:
•
Simulation and emulation platforms.
•
GNU or similar compiler and debugging suites.
•
Embedded programming, preferably with communication devices and hardware buses like I2C, SPI, Ethernet, and USB.
•
Building Automotive or other safety-critical systems using qualification methods/processes like MISRA, ASPICE, and ISO26262.
