About this role

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. BASIC REQUIREMENT: J.D. or LL.B degree: MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: To be considered for this position, applicants must have successfully completed a full course of study at a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) or have the first professional law degree (LLB) by closing date of the vacancy announcement. Bar Certification: To be considered for this position, applicants must not be barred/licensed on the closing date of this vacancy announcement but must be able to obtain their Bar/License Certification within 14-months of their appointment. Once obtained, applicants will be converted into a permanent position. ACCOMPLISHMENT RECORD COMPETENCIES: Your Accomplishment Record narratives should address the following competencies. See the How You Will Be Evaluated section below for more information: Disclosure Review - Reviews and analyzes disclosure documents in accordance with relevant rules, regulations, standards, and Agency, Division, and Office positions and interpretations to determine compliance with agency and industry regulations. Critical Thinking - Considers a variety of factors, general and subject matter-specific, when making decisions and determining next steps. Teamwork and Collaboration - Interacts with internal and external others in a manner that advances SEC goals and objectives. Workload Management - Effectively prioritizes workload in a way that accommodates unforeseen developments and achieves successful outcomes.
