About Monks Media Studio
Monks Media Studio is our boutique, brand-oriented Comms & Media Planning team. It includes mostly senior resources who push the boundaries of media, treating media as an expression of brand identity. We practice people-first strategy and look to infuse creativity into our strategies, plans and executions.
The Role
The Director, Media Architecture is a senior strategic lead for one or more of Monks' most valuable clients as well as new business engagements. They are accountable for the strategic vision of the brand, case-study quality of work, and driving growth. This requires:
• Strong strategic points of view and big ambitions
• An exceptional track record of producing ground-breaking media
• Natural ability to turn data into insights and narratives for senior-level clients
• Deep, full-funnel understanding of the media landscape across Social, Search, Programmatic/Digital Investment, Holistic Video, OOH, and Direct Partnerships
• A penchant for creative thinking & innovation across media execution
• Experience managing and stewarding growth for a multi-disciplinary team
• Strong presentation skills in both written and verbal communication; ability to convey thoughts and recommendations clearly and effectively to both internal and external stakeholders
• End-to-end media strategy and planning; from brief all the way through post-mortem measurement, having a strong understanding of stewarding campaigns from start to finish with a clear strategic vision
Responsibilities:
Strategic & Team Leadership
• Lead the development of all go-to-market strategies, informed by rich consumer and industry insights and connected to measurable outcomes.
• Push our teams to raise the bar in terms of executional and performance excellence
• Ensure consistency and quality of major client presentations
• Identify and create the openings for organic growth opportunities across Monks' full capability set; contribute to scope enhancements and media spend growth.
Relationship Management
•
• Help drive execution of big ideas with platforms, including sponsorships, integrations & innovation
• Help manage effective cross-agency partnership relationships (creative and media).
About You
The essentials:
• 8+ years of industry experience focused on cross-channel media strategy & planning
• Eager to produce creative media strategies that make a big impact on both clients and audiences, as well as business outcomes
• A master of media planning, activation and measurement, with strong brand-building fluency
• Fluent in data and AI-enabled tools, with the analytical rigor to separate signal from noise. Hands-on proficiency in cross-media planning tools like Nielsen is preferred.
• Organized, with the ability to manage up and swing down as needed, and to lead initiatives across departments.
• Not afraid to defect from the status quo in order to make our clients and company more successful.
• BA or equivalent with emphasis on marketing, advertising, or business.

This role is subject to our Return to Office (RTO) policy. If you reside within a commutable distance of one of our office locations, you will be expected to work from the office a set number of days per week. The specific details, including the number of required office days, will be in accordance with the company’s then-current RTO policy, which is subject to change from time to time.
Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
Salary Range:
$135,000—$145,000 USD
