Key Responsibilities

Middleware Administration & Automation (Primary Focus)

• Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for middleware platforms using Ansible, Python, and YAML.

• Automate middleware provisioning, installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and decommissioning.

• Build reusable automation frameworks for:
• IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS)

• IBM Liberty

• IBM HTTP Server (IHS)

• Apache Tomcat

• Oracle WebLogic

• IIS

• Apache HTTP Server

• Implement automated health checks, compliance validation, configuration drift detection, and self-healing capabilities.

• Convert manual middleware operational tasks into fully automated workflows and pipelines.

• Develop runbooks and automation standards for enterprise middleware operations.

DevOps & CI/CD

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using:
• Azure DevOps

• GitHub Actions

• Jenkins

• VS Code

• Automate application deployments across middleware environments.

• Support release management, deployment orchestration, rollback mechanisms, and automated validations.

• Integrate infrastructure and middleware configurations into Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration-as-Code frameworks.

• Embed security, governance, and compliance controls within CI/CD workflows.

• Collaborate with application, QA, and infrastructure teams to improve deployment reliability and speed.

Middleware Platform Operations

• Manage and support enterprise middleware environments across Development, QA, UAT, and Production.

• Perform middleware installation, upgrades, migrations, and patch management.

• Configure:
• Application Servers

• Web Servers

• Messaging Systems

• Load Balancer Integrations

• SSL/TLS Security

• Reverse Proxy Configurations

• Implement clustering, load balancing, session persistence, and HA solutions.

• Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and resource optimization.

• Troubleshoot platform-level incidents and complex production issues.

Cloud & Infrastructure Operations

• Automate deployment and configuration of middleware workloads on Azure and hybrid infrastructures.

• Support middleware services running on Windows and Linux platforms.

• Utilize VMware Aria Automation and Aria Operations for infrastructure automation, monitoring, provisioning, and operational governance.

• Support containerized middleware deployments utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift where applicable.

• Ensure platform availability, reliability, and security compliance.

Monitoring, Reliability & Security

• Implement proactive monitoring and automated remediation for middleware components.

• Configure and manage:
• Application Monitoring

• JVM Monitoring

• Log Aggregation

• Alerting Frameworks

• Performance Dashboards

• VMware Aria Operations

• Conduct root cause analysis and develop permanent fixes through automation.

• Implement security hardening, certificate management, encryption standards, and access controls.

• Support audit and compliance requirements.
