WHAT YOU'LL DO
Mapbox is looking for a Developer Relations Manager to lead our developer relations strategy, efforts to grow and engage the Mapbox developer community, and build programs that help developers successfully adopt and build with the Mapbox platform.
In this role, you will lead a team responsible for connecting Mapbox with developers around the world. You’ll set the strategy for how we educate, engage, evangelize, and advocate for our developer community while remaining close to developers yourself. You’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and other teams to bring the voice of the developer into Mapbox and ensure our community has the resources, content, and experiences they need to be successful.
We are looking for a hands-on leader who combines technical credibility with strong people leadership and strategic thinking. You should be equally comfortable developing a developer relations strategy, coaching a team, digging into developer feedback and data, and representing Mapbox through technical content, events, social media content, and community engagement. Be deeply hands-on, using vibe coding to rapidly build and demonstrate map-powered apps that showcase what developers can create with Mapbox.
- Own and evolve the Developer Relations strategy for Mapbox, establishing priorities and programs that grow developer engagement, adoption, and advocacy.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Developer Relations team, providing clear priorities, feedback, and opportunities for growth.
- Build and cultivate a developer community that supports one another in learning how to use the Mapbox platform to power the navigation of people, packages, and vehicles everywhere.
- Develop scalable programs that educate and engage developers across technical content, community, social media, events, workshops, demos, webinars, social channels, and developer forums.
- Remain hands-on in the developer community by creating technical content, delivering talks and demos, engaging with developers, and representing Mapbox externally.
- Develop and nurture relationships with developers, customers, community leaders, and technical influencers.
- Identify and partner with developers to create content that enables and inspires their peers, including guest blogs, tutorials, videos, workshops, contributed articles, and social content.
- Serve as a key connection between the developer community and Mapbox Product and Engineering teams, synthesizing developer feedback and identifying opportunities to improve our products, documentation, and developer experience.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and other teams to align Developer Relations programs with broader company and product priorities.
- Build programs that enable Mapbox engineers and other internal technical experts to share their work and expertise with the developer community.
- Establish clear goals and success metrics for Developer Relations programs; use data, developer insights, and experimentation to evaluate impact and determine where the team should invest.
- Identify opportunities to scale Developer Relations through improved processes, tooling, content, community programs, and partnerships.
- Represent the needs and perspectives of developers internally and help ensure the developer experience remains central to how Mapbox builds and launches products.
