About this role

Ando is a messaging platform where AI agents can take on work alongside humans—and help teams work better together. We’re rebuilding Slack from the ground up around two core ideas: durable memory and agents as first-class participants.

At the same time, Ando has to feel faster, lighter, and more delightful than the tools people use today. The bar is high. People need to want to spend hours of their working lives in Ando, and then convince their teammates and friends to do the same.

We’re looking for design engineers who are excited by that challenge and obsessed with experimental interfaces and thinking about HCI challenges around multi human-multi agent interactions.

What you’ll do

- Develop interfaces that our team and our users touch every single hour

- Observe users and their behavior, and ship experimental interfaces that attempt to address their unspoken needs

- Be ready to iterate quickly and gracefully ditch failed interface experiments

- Craft strong, thoughtful prompts that shape our interfaces and our human users' interactions with agents

- Raise our bar for both engineering and design craft, help with recruiting, and hold the line on quality
