About the Role

The Delivery Team Senior Manager is accountable for the strategy, day-to-day execution, and continuous improvement of Short-Term Disability and Absence Claim and Leave operations. The role leads a team of Managers and partners across the broader organization to close operational gaps, integrate capabilities, and deliver measurable performance. This leader develops business plans and operational strategies that strengthen claim quality, productivity, compliance, service delivery, return-to-work outcomes, and organizational growth.

Responsibilities

• Leading the day-to-day execution of Short-Term Disability, absence claim, and leave operations. Developing market-centered strategies and business plans that deliver scalable operational capabilities and processes

• Serving as the Claims lead for service delivery teams supporting Leave of Absence, Short-Term Disability, Americans with Disabilities Act accommodations, and/or Long-Term Disability, including engagement with rehabilitation or clinical services where applicable.

• Developing and recommending claim-management and service-level strategies and tactics. Partnering across the organization and, when appropriate, with external parties to identify operational gaps and establish plans to address them.

• Assessing business and technology partners and supporting the integration of products and capabilities across platforms. Developing business plans that improve quality, efficiency, productivity, and service delivery.

• Partnering with peers and senior leadership to execute operational priorities and achieve service excellence. Establishing and maintaining critical measures of success that meet or exceed market expectations and operational needs.

• Developing and inspiring the Claims team by communicating business updates and aligning team objectives with organizational goals in an environment of trust.

• Executing the performance management cycle by establishing clear performance metrics, systems of measurement, and accountability that drive results.

• Promoting continuous growth, learning, and improvement while providing candid, actionable developmental feedback. Creating a culture of openness, trust, inclusion, strategic thinking, and constructive challenges.

• Ensuring effective regulatory compliance and internal control systems are maintained, including compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and documented procedures that incorporate preventive and detective controls.

Requirements

• Have expert knowledge of Short-Term Disability and Absence products, claim operations, and industry claim practices.

• Demonstrate ability to create and communicate a clear vision, mission, and operational strategy aligned with broader business goals.

• Possess 5+ years' experience leading complex claim, disability, absence, leave, ADA, rehabilitation, and/or clinical service delivery operations.

• Display proven ability to translate business strategy into executable operating plans, performance measures, and results.

• Demonstrate advanced strategic and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to anticipate trends, evaluate risk, and make sound operational decisions.

• Have 5+ years' experience leading through Managers and developing large, high-performing teams.

• Demonstrate success improving claim quality, productivity, compliance, service delivery, and return-to-work outcomes.

• Have experience managing departmental budgets and planning for responsible growth.

• Be able to evaluate business and technology partners and integrate operational capabilities across platforms. Commit to maintaining regulatory compliance, internal controls, and a strong risk-management environment.

• Possess dynamic business and financial acumen, analytical capability, executive communication skills, and change leadership. Be able to build trusted cross-functional partnerships and influence peers and senior leaders toward shared operational outcomes.
