Your resume should show your specific knowledge, skill, and abilities for this position in relation to each of the elements being measured. Examples of qualifying experience: Working as a janitor in a retail, office, or warehouse environment. Uses machines (floor scrubber, power washers, and floor buffers) along with other tools (e.g. buckets, mops, cleaning cloth, cleaning solutions, squeegees) to do the job. You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Physical requirements: (1) Stand, stoop, kneel, bend and climb for prolonged periods. (2) Lift, push, pull, carry, and handle items weighing up to 40 pounds independently and occasionally over 40 pounds with assistance. You will attest to your ability to perform these physical requirements in the Questionnaire. Work environment: Within the commissary indoor area most of the time; occasionally must work out of doors to accomplish cleaning tasks. Is exposed to conditions inherent in cleaning task such as skin irritations and chapped hands from working with strong cleaning agents. Care is required to avoid serious injuries when working on ladders and scaffolds and when using heavy powered equipment. Indoor work areas normally have adequate heat, light and ventilation.
