Since its inception in 2011, Blockchain has earned the trust of over 90 million wallet holders and more than 40 million verified users, facilitating over $1 trillion in crypto transactions.</p></div><p>We are seeking an experienced compliance professional to join our Malta entity as a <strong>Compliance Manager</strong>.</p> <p>The successful candidate will have a solid grounding in Maltese AML/CFT legislation and the FIAU regulatory framework, hands-on experience with STR/SAR investigations and submissions, and a working knowledge of the crypto and virtual assets sector.</p> <p><strong>WHAT YOU WILL DO</strong></p> <p><strong>STR/SAR Investigations and Regulatory Reporting</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support the end-to-end STR/SAR process, including internal investigation, documentation, and submission to the FIAU via the goAML platform.</li> <li>Conduct case reviews of flagged transactions, applying sound judgement to assess reasonable grounds for suspicion.</li> <li>Maintain accurate case records in line with regulatory record-keeping requirements.</li> <li>Monitor FIAU typology guidance and incorporate relevant findings into day-to-day monitoring activity.</li> </ul> <p><strong>AML and Compliance Projects</strong></p> <ul> <li>Contribute to a range of AML and compliance workstreams as directed by the MLRO, including policy reviews, risk assessments, CDD/EDD process improvements, and regulatory change implementation.</li> <li>Assist with the preparation of AML/CFT reports for senior management and the Board.</li> <li>Support training initiatives to ensure staff across the Malta entity understand and meet their AML obligations.</li> <li>Liaise with Group compliance and legal teams to ensure consistency between entity-level and group-wide standards.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Virtual Assets Compliance</strong></p> <ul> <li>Apply knowledge of the VASP regulatory framework in Malta (VFAA, MFSA rules) to day-to-day compliance activity.</li> <li>Support the use of blockchain analytics tools (e.g. Chainalysis, Elliptic, TRM Labs) in transaction monitoring and investigations.</li> <li>Stay current on crypto AML typologies and developments such as the FATF Travel Rule and MiCA implementation.</li> </ul> <p><strong>WHAT YOU WILL NEED</strong></p> <ul> <li>4+ years of AML/CFT compliance experience within a regulated financial services or virtual assets business.</li> <li>Solid, working knowledge of Maltese AML/CFT law and regulation, including the PMLA (Cap. 373), FIAU Implementing Procedures, and applicable EU directives.</li> <li>Proven, hands-on experience with STR/SAR investigations and submissions, including use of the FIAU's goAML reporting system.</li> <li>Experience in the crypto / virtual assets sector, with familiarity with VASP business models and crypto-specific AML risks.</li> <li>Knowledge of blockchain analytics tools and their application to transaction monitoring.</li> <li>Relevant professional qualification: CAMS (ACAMS), ICA Diploma in AML, or equivalent.</li> <li>Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to document investigation findings clearly.</li> <li>Fluency in English required. </li> </ul> <p><strong>NICE TO HAVE</strong></p> <ul> <li>Prior experience in a Deputy MLRO or senior AML role within a crypto-native or fintech business.</li> <li>Familiarity with MiCA and its AML/CFT implications for VASPs operating in the EU.</li> <li>Experience operating in a multi-entity or group compliance environment.</li> <li>Prior exposure to FIAU or MFSA supervisory visits or regulatory enquiries.</li> </ul> <p><strong>COMPENSATION & PERKS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Unlimited vacation policy; work hard and take time when you need it.</li> <li>Unlimited books policy; order the technical resources you need or simply pick something up from our company library.</li> <li>Apple equipment.</li> <li>Learning and development opportunities in other areas than AML in the future.</li> <li>Full-time salary based on experience and meaningful equity in an industry-leading company.</li> <li data-stringify-indent="0" data-stringify-border="0">Hybrid role based in our Malta office, with a mandatory in-office presence four days per week</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><em>Blockchain is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
