About this role
Job Purpose
To play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service at our stations. The candidate will be responsible for accurately processing transactions, handling cash and credit card payments, and ensuring a positive environment for customers. The main goal will be to contribute to the efficiency and overall success of our operations.
Principal Accountabilities
• Process all receipts (paying-in slip, cheques) in customer accounts.
• Deposit receipts in bank on a daily basis.
• Ensure clearance of AR queries.
• Ensure daily monitoring of bank statements and balances (hard and soft).
• Ensure daily paying-in slip control and accounting entries in customer accounts
• Ensure follow up on bounced check and drafts and inform concerned businesses on time.
• Ensure cash voucher filing.
Key Challenges
• Accurately process cash, credit, and debit card transactions.
• Maintain a balanced cash drawer and ensure that any discrepancies are reported immediately.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers and responding to their queries in a courteous manner.
• Handle customer complaints with patience and professionalism, ensuring issues are resolved promptly.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the cashiering area.
• Conduct daily reconciliation of cash and credit card sales.
• Ensure compliance with security and operational procedures to prevent fraud and theft.
• Support promotional campaigns and sales initiatives at the service station.
Requirements
Job Knowledge, Skills & Experiences:
• Finance degree, economics degree or qualified accountant.
• Prior experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred.
• Strong numerical and math skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient in using point of sale (POS) systems and cash management practices.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
